Finally done, working on this one for a few days
Not totally happy with the result, but there comes a point when you just have to stop tweaking. XD

I like how the image seems to capture the feelings between both - betrayal and loneliness against pride courage. The comparisons may not be exact, but hey...we all try to feel accomplished, don't we?

I always loved Luna's tragic backstory and all the different fan interpretations of it, the events that surrounded her eventual slip into madness and even how Celestia might have felt as a result of both their actions. There's just enough intrigue to grease the cogs and now they won't stop turning.
Though there are a few things I could gripe about in this picture, I still like how it looks as a whole piece. Luna's expression and body language are absolutely heartrending.

Yes I agree, I also felt there was something off with the legs, but wasn't sure how to make it look right because I couldn't quite tell what it was. Mind if I ask what makes it look weird? I may go back and fix it another time XD And thank you

I'd say the metatarsus is too short, and the joint between the metatarsus and the tibia should be more noticeable (it should be clearly separate from the flank) and a tad more towards the front.
The bones in ponies' back legs create what resembles a lightning bolt shape made of the femur, the tibia (which is quite short for FIM ponies) and the metatarsus. For sitting ponies, the angle between the femur and the tibia becomes smaller, and the one between the tibia and the metatarsus becomes greater, but the length of the bones in the "lightning bolt" needs to be conserved.
So you might want to try drawing the bolt shape first and drawing the back leg around it. Or you could try crouching yourself and imagining you have short legs and an extremely long foot.
The back leg might look more natural that way.

I would wager that Demonsul is referring to "The Moon Rises." It was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the title and the picture.

I think you did an amazing job on both of them, Luna looks really sad and lonesome, while Celestia looks strong and almost unreachable.
