Zulu One is the only zebra within the borders of Unikraine. He came to Task Force 018 when Alpha Two brought him back when he was an infant from an operation in Zebrica.

The country was on the verge of collapse with the tribal wars and a corrupt government doing nothing about it. Unikraine couldn't sit idly by while this mineral rich country tore itself apart, and with it, world trade. So The Board sent seven 018 team members into the country to silently eliminate tribal leaders, and perform a military coup. The 018 operators were on there way to eliminate the heads of the Al Shira tribal warband, when they came across a destroyed village. Normally there wouldn't be a sweep for survivors but the sound of a crying infant caught Alpha Two's attention.

A baby zebra was found miraculously unharmed in a destroyed shack. Alpha Two ordered his team to continue on while he brought the child back to Unikraine. The Board was furious with Alpha Two's decision to return to Unikraine with a foreign national at first, however their opinion change as he explained the child would be brought up in the 018 program, and would be a better asset to use in any further operations in Zebrica.

Since he didn't fit in with any of the other 018 teams, The Board created Zulu team, with Zulu One being the one and only member.

Now 20 years old, Zulu One is primarily sent to Zebrica to ensure that the region remains stable.

He may be a Zebra, but his loyalty lies with Unikraine, and the ponies who gave him a second chance.
