~Freeman2 asked for some help on drawing Sam, so I sat down and wrote some notes down.I think this may count as my first half-ass tutorial on dA!
It's a great pose and he shows great promise
Don't take anything that I've said as gospel, though, this is
only my opinion and observations...

amazing, this tutorial actually gives alot of real guidance, and most importantly teaches how to critically assess one's work, something pretty unusual among wanna be artists (including me!). You know, the desire to finish is way mpre powerful than the desire to perfect...

Glad to see you educating people. However, the title is a little suspect. "Freeman Sam Notes"? If I were to separate some words like Free Man, then combine ManSam, then change it to Mason, it would read "Free Mason Notes" Ah ha! You are trying to recruit cult members!

You really are a remarkable artist, you know. No matter the 'official' art style of the show, you seem to be able to reproduce it essentially perfectly!

You gave very thorough notes.
I feel when people try to draw these type of characters they often draw what they think the character looks like rather than what is actually there, so they end up drawing what are suppose to be exaggeratedly disproportioned cartoon characters with more human proportions (5 heads high, thicker bodies, smaller eyes).
Seeing this side by side comparison is very informative.
