This is what impresses me about avatar in general, it's aimed at kids but the deep moral and ethical themes are something that could grip an adult, be it war, genocide, racism, terrorism, but at the same time it isn't always black and white.

Toph's statement was spot on. Each one of these ideals, in their own right, are moral and ethical, however, when pushed to the extremes, they all become corrupted. Equality became Purging. Balance became Disorder. Liberty became Chaos, and Order became Tyranny.

If you think about it, almost every war is just people pushing moral and ethical ideals to extremes 0_0

That's one of the things I love about Korra - the villians are not straight-up bad guys who just want to take over the world.
