Description
Here is the initial concept for Vakama in my live-action Bionicle spec film. I'll be adding details as I expand the artwork design, including various angles of the helmet so the rear flaps are visible.The upper and lower heat flaps were incorporated to allow for expression and emotion without compromising practicality. When Vakama is working the furnaces, he can lower/raise the flaps to shield optical circuits from damage. The attachments around his "snout" are temperature guages that are so precise, Vakama can sense a foreign presence entering the room without visual confirmation. There is a plethora of details for the new design, but since it is only the head thus far, I will save the rest for remaining works.
As for the plans for the film, it will involve Metru Nui, as well as the first Toa (before they were members of the Order of Mata Nui).

I'd mostly utilize CGI renders for the "Bionics." Neil Blomkamp's contributions to CGI innovation has made it far cheaper than it has ever been, and with dynamic filming, costs can be kept well below what costumed actors would be (costumes have a tendency to breakdown, while also requiring multiple copies, changes, etc. that can take hours if not days of shooting away). The live-action film would not be the classic Bionicle tail either, but an origin story that leads to the "myth" the Bionicle embrace in current canon.

Thank you! How could I not start with Vakama? XD I need to work on designing Helryx still though; its going to be the origin story of the Bionicle, and how reality washed away to legend (the film would have humans and biological society, but explains what happens to everything while sticking to the canon as close as it can)

Well, if I get my other works published, I'll have a lot more pull on the matter. I at least want to get a novel out for it, if I can't get a script out there. I'm hoping the fact that it would gear towards the, now adult, generation that first had Bionicles, it would be an enticing pitch. Fingers crossed!
