Description
A Kdaimon human fisherman of the shores of the sea of Hieyokscream, repairing a net.
The Kdaimon were humans from the Polforian coasts of the sea of Hieyokscream. Descendants of the human settlements and kingdoms of Polforia that falled against the Kanovs during the polforian kanov-human wars, when the demons arrived at Polforia and fought the Kanovs in the Kanovhook wars, many of the Kdaimons only saw it as a change of rulers, while others actively gave aid to the dark legion against the Kanovs.
Poor fishermen, under the rule of the Dark Legion they will worship them as gods, but at the same time, as the Dark Legion was mostly an anti-human confederation, the presence of these human populations worried many of the members of the Confederation of the Free Peoples -or Dark Legion-. Because of this, the demons overlords opressed the kdaimons, trying to control the size of the population, making them into lowly serfs and slaves, subjects to heavy taxation and the "blood tribute", having to give their firstborn child to the demons -under normal conditions, as demons could take as many childrens they saw fit- to serve the Dark Legion, in any role they saw fit, be as soldiers, slaves, sacrifices or any needed role.
Because of the blood tribute thought, it meant the presence of Kdaimon humans extended among all the demonic realms of Polforia, and while it originally it was only used the word Kdaimon for the poor fishers of Hieyokscream, it would later become a common denominator for all the demon servers humans of Polforia, without regard of their ethnic origin.
Unlike the Nutks, other group of human demon servers, the Kdaimon never had their own state, and remained always in subyacent roles in the Dark Legion. As well in their military role, they mostly served in auxiliary roles rather than front-line soldiers, as many demons lords worried that if the Kdaimon were to learn to use weapons and military tactics, would rebel against their demon masters -and indeed, there would be many Kdaimon peasant uprisings.-
However in general, the Kdaimon weren't known for their military virtues, or for being rebels, as they largelly accepted as a divine state of things, to serve their demon-gods, and did so with resignation, and normally the Kdaimon peasant uprisings were related to coyuntural causes, and were mostly against their overseers rather than against the demonic-ruled society.
Among the Kdaimons, there where two distinctive groups: the eastern Kdaimons, that had a patriarchal society, and the western Kdaimons, who where matriarchal:
The Western Kdaimons where under the rule of the Amazons tribes -who often raided the kdaimon villages for tributes, men or to take girls to raise them as amazons-. While it was always different the relation between Kdaimons and the amazon tribes or queendoms, be as vassals, living among the amazon tribes or being in segregated settlements by gender, they remained in a subsidiary role regarding the Amazon tribes.
After the First War of the Power, many of the Kdaimons that had been settled by the Dark legion in western and central Polforia will become serfs of the northwestern-Aelian humans and elven colonists, but as the Military Order of Nortender and the Church tried to impose the Karentian Christian faith, they will face many rebellions, which were violently crushed, which made the resentment to grow, while the eastern Kdaimons remained under the demonic rule of the Dark Legion remnant states, until the Second Coming of Darkness, and the Second War of the Power: with the reunification of the Dark Legion, and the role of other demon-server groups as Nutks, will make relatively better the situation of the Kdaimon serfs of the Dark Legion.
They will dissapear as a distinguible ethnic group after the Cataclysm.
The daimon humans, or demon servers, where the humans who served the Dark Legion of demons.
There where many "dark humans", almost since the apparition of the Demons during the Age of Invasions: As the demons, feared rival of humankind, raised in power, some groups began worshiping them in cults, being the first humans who served demons.
Later, in the daemon-Dumian wars, the Dark Legion used barbarians to face the Dumian Empire, but they where more allies than vassals... but with their power, slowly the demons come to become gods and divine creatures in the religion of the "demon servers".
However, such groups where still more or less marginal, and would be only during and after the Kanovhook wars between the Dark Legion and the Kanov of Polforia, that there will appear nations of "demon servers".
The humans of Polforia, after long wars, had been defeated by the Kanovs: and so, when the demons arrived, they did see it mostly only as a change of rule: and even many humans helped the demons against the Kanov, hoping to get ridden of their opressors.
In general, the Dark Legion of Demons, or as they called themselves as well: Confederation of the Free Peoples, was mostly an anti-human organization, gathering under their dark banners all the enemies of mankind. Enemies that mankind had done for themselves in their expansion, so many of the demons and their servants, didn't liked to have human vassals.
But other where more practical.
The "demon server" cultures where three main groups:
Polforian Humans:
-Brûmer from Brûm. Originally, farmers and cattle raisers, being conquered by the orcs of the Dragongod Barûm helped them develope their material culture into a civilization, but with much more vinculation to the red orc culture than to other human groups.
Normally they where very pale, and had dark hair. They worshiped Barûm, the Dragongod.
- Kdaimon from polforian coasts of the sea of Hieyokscream. Opressed by the demons, these poor fishers worshiped the demons, but where lowly serfs and slaves, subject to heavy taxation, the "blood tribute", having to give their firstborn child to the demons, who used them as they see fit (soldiers, slaves, sacrifices, etc). They where normally very pale, having dark hair and light eyes.
-Polforian Amazons The amazon tribes of the bay of Hieyokscream where matriarchal society, divided in a serie of queendoms and tribal lands. Unlike other polforian humans, they resisted the Kanovs and where independent, and many converted to the cult of the Demons, as an alliance against the common enemy -the kanovs-, and the cultural impossition by other western-Aelian human groups of a patriarcal type of society. In that way, several of the eastern amazon Queendoms, falled in demonic influence. Others resisted -as the Queendom of Priva-, but they where defeated during the Great War of the Power, and all the amazons became "demon servers". They where vassals of the Dark Legion, serving in their armies as warriors.
-Sukkeses Sailors from Hieyokscream and the Hieyok shores, they converted to the demonic faith during the second war of the power, being mercenaries.
Nutks
From the eastern plains of Anutkia, they served Anutkahook. Originally a band of nomadic riders, Anutkahook leaded them into an empire that will cover much of the Sea of Tok.
Yermenios
The barbarians of El Yermo, who converted to the demonic faith.
(some authors as well added to the list of demon servers the "deep humans", humans that lived in the underworld of Kazrrad, mostly due slavery).

Seems as he doesn't care one way or another about the politics of the demon lords, as long as he can fish and raise his family. Wouldn't mind living in West Kdaimon; if you look healthy and hardy, at least the amazons would use you for breeding stock.

Great sense of weariness and peace, nice, minimalist depiction of age and labor.

Thanks! It's good to have more pics and information about the demon server humans.
Perhaps we could see more amazons of the 2nd War of the Power period? The Aiers Primeans and Helzig now being in the past?
The Yermenios would have joined the Dark Legion in campaigns against the five kingdoms, and human kingdoms to the south of Aels? Purporia in particular?

yeahl hadn't done a lot with the Kdaimons!
The Aiers Primeans and Helzig -changed to... Priveans and helzar, if I'm not mistaken, to not be confused with Tom's work?- are indeed part of the past!
The Yermenios barbarians fought the Five Kingdoms, but as you said, they largelly clashed with Purpurian!

Good thing they conquered the amazon tribes too! Female warriors are always nice to have! But the fishermen are needed as well, who would want a poorly fed amazon, flat as the sea?
