An old Wild Elven chieftain, preparing for battle against the Orc Queen, that had unified under a single banner all the orcs of the plains in a single Horde, the Horde of Antor.
She was raised as a child in the cities of her forefathers. When she was still too young to understand it, she had seen them fall. She was a teen when the refugees tried to learn how to survive wandering in the plains, and she was among the generation of younglings that began a new episode in the live of their peoples, as hunters and gatherers.
She had seen the fall of their people, cornered to the very brink of destruction. She was -like others like them-, the ones who avoided destruction, and ensured the -bare- survival of their people in any way they could.
And now, that survival was being treatened by the same ancient enemies of old.
Some suggested to do as they had done before, to migrate south of the Shaa river, beyond the borders the orcs have claimed for their empire.
But she remembers, even after rivers dried, forests disseapeared, deserts and dunes extended, after for long the wind eroded the ancient stones, where her homeland once was.
And she wouldn't leave the few things they had achieved in that diminished, misreable survival for the orcs to take.
The Elves of Aiers, while mortal, are long lived, and live in a world they see age: the nations their form, the cities their build, houses, clothes; all of it they see decline and decay.
Living in an efimere world, after the end of the elven age of hegemony in what would be seen as an apocalypsis to their whole world and worldview, many elves adopted philosophical posturers of the inhability of destruction, of destiny, pesimism and fatalism. Some fell to a general mood of despair at a perceived pointlessness of existence that one may develop upon realising there are no necessary norms, rules, or laws, with a crumbling of some elven societies.

Nice portrayal of a wild elf who looks like she experienced a lot given her age. In most fantasy settings, elves barely age but have the appearance of a 18-40 year old but are over 100. But in your Aiers setting, they age just like us but slower.

thanks!
About the (first) Orc Queen, elves only knew rumours, but often they looked down to the Orc Queen because she was, well, an orc!

Only orc can be a true orc queen! And elf... can be just an elf queen of orcs. Not so cool!

That is one tough looking old gal, by the look on her face if the orc queen wins she will pay for it dearly in body parts lopped off.

Even elves age. But it is true, when buildings rise up, a perspective of experiencing time will see structures rot and fall. Forests rise and recede. Viewing the world in a Tibetan sort of impermanence is about the most positive or at least flexible philosophy to have. Otherwise, elven elders might indeed see things only with a maudlin sense of doom, maddening inaction or conservatism to preserve what little can be saved.
Of course, not many elves will be successful enough to cheat violent death or accident to reach such an age. But that does nothing to help those that do!
Evidently by the 25th Century a.a.H., there were still elves about who remembered the colonies before the various cities would fall caused by the orcs, kanovs and humans?
Well, at least three colonies remained as the 'coelacanths' of the elven colonial period, so I suppose there could be. Again, individual elves lived long enough to see their people fall from civilization and evolve into hunter gatherers.

yeah: they live violent times, and there are accidents! Not many elves indeed can reach such old age!

She looks very weathered by time. Certainly her experience could outmatch the orc queen.
