Description Just some experimental photography.
Note: I'll be adding similar photos to my stock gallery soon. This however, is not stock. Also, sorry about the DA Watermark. I had to re-install Photoshop, and haven't gotten around to re-making my own watermark.

Photographer: Me.
Location: Hermanus, South Africa.
Went to Hermanus for my Cousin's wedding in May. He's BluDragon01 on here, but he's not active.

Questions:
What can I do to improve?
What would you suggest for post processing?
Any tips for composition?

My R0,02:

It catches the feel of the Cape sea in winter - cold and stormy. I know those days!

Since you asked for commentary:

For me, the composition is to 'bottom heavy' - cropping off some of the sky to put the horizon closer to the upper third might help. Including more of the rock might also help - there isn't quite enough to anchor my eye on that thin line of rock at the bottom, and I suspect that adding more of it would help this.

There might be  a little more texture to the sky to be had in this kind of high contrast mode? Sometimes I strip out the blue - effectively add a red filter, then de-saturate. In the analogue world, this gets beautiful cloud/ sky texture. It may lift something out here, and then change the balance of the image upwards again.

And you mentioned about the watermark, so I wont beat that drum!

I would never have thought to crop the sky to bring the horizon closer... My first instinct was to crop the rocks instead! Which made it look "off balance." I still have the original photo, that has substantially more rock at the bottom. (not rock bottom though)

Will definitely play around with the filter and de-saturation. I de-saturate most of my images, to some extent, because I like the "moodiness" it gives to seascapes and barren landscapes, however that is as far as my post processing skills go. Can't wait to try your suggestions.

Thanks so much!

In the programming world, they refer to 'impartial eyeballs' - seeing things fresh, and new. That's what community is about. I look forward to V2!

I think it's beautiful.  But I don't know much about photography so I can't offer any advice.
