if I have time I'll try to do a tutorial about that basically what i do, is put the texture onto a new layer and change the opacity settings so that its almost transparent. Then take an eraser and lightly erase it over models so that its only in the background. That is the SIMPLEST way to use texture, there are hundreds of more useful methods, like using a rust texture to make skin look decayed. lol. In the meantime you can browse thru my favourites folder (the one titled RESOURCES) i think i've faved some of those tutorials. or check out this link, its for a tutorial made by night-fate [link]
