Well... Superman doesn't need armor. He uses it more for reasons of symbolism (Bruce is dead, he feels extremely responsible for it and now their ideals are distorted by guilt.) A very strange story jojoI hope you like it!

You should look for an old still "What If" DC did some years back. Instead of being found by the Kents, Kal-El is found by the Waynes. His adopted parents are still gunned down, but instead of getting away, a terrified and very angry little boy FRIES the muggers with his new found ability to fire beams of heat from his eyes. It goes on from there of him becoming Batman, and so on and so forth. It was a great story, I highly recommend it.
