Then should I take down all my other deviations too? The original art is not mine either, yet I worked with it, so should I be reported as well for it?
And while we're at it, then maybe all the other designers on deviantART should take down their designs as well, since they use art that don't belong to them too. Most of them don't even give the proper credits in the comments so why should I be the only one who has to have their design taken down? BTW, I've never done this for profit but rather for fun, so I think it'd be worse to take money for something I didn't do. And yet, here I am, just because I forgot to give the proper credit :/
But if you still find that it's fair, even after I wrote all of the above, then I'd rather wait for it to be taken down.

Unfortunately, it is hard for people like you because obviously the path you are taking doesn't require you to do your own artwork (that is minus the designs you added), however that is a rule here (and mind you, one that people foam at the mouth about) so you need to comply otherwise it'll just cause you trouble.
What I could suggest though, is if you still want to put designs up here then try and collaborate with one or several of the many talented artists here on DA and use their work. If you have express permission then there is no problem, and I'm sure there's at least a few artists on here that wouldn't mind their artwork being made more wallpaper-appropriate or something

That doesn't answer my questions (sorry, but you're just basically saying the same as before), specially why am I the only one who has to obey the rules and others like me don't have to :/ I've always been giving the proper credit, but just because I forgot to give it this one time, people are already attacking me.

put the artist name properly. since it's not yours and the way you reply to the comments sounds like you did color this , not just design the background. this doesn't belong to the fanart category either. means you're just another art thief.
