You all know Shade. The bad@$$ rookie hero of St. Canard. Skilled DJ of The Thunderbolt in downtown St. Canard. Leader of the Dynamite Chus and the one and only Project-X.

Shade's made quite a name for herself since she broke out of the Team Rocket lab and made it burn to the ground.

But, ever wonder what her parents were like? I am proud to introduce Riff and Vortex.

Riff is a powerful Raichu who left his trainer when he told him he was too weak. He told him that if he couldn't beat a normal trainer's Graveler then he'd never win in the Pok'emon league.

Riff had tried his hardest and he would have won had the Graveler not used Earthquake following with Rock Throw. Ever since that day Riff vowed never to trust humans again.

Vortex was a quiet pikachu that lived in a small forest that ran parallel with a vast meadow. Not too far away was a cliff that overlooked the ocean.

She was visiting there one day when the cliff's edge crumbled and she fell. Riff just happened to be below trying to hunt for a fish to eat when He heard her scream. with a Huge leap from his powerful legs he caught Vortex and landed safely.

They had been together ever since. It was a while before they had Shade. Many battles that they had fought together in. They had become so strong that their Thunder attacks had changed color from the normal yellow. Riff's Thunder had turned Red like the tip of his tail and Vortex's Thunder turned blue.

When they had Shade they knew she was special. Like her parents she had been born with different colored markings. Red eyes with blue markings. The little family was peaceful and happy.

But, everything changed when Team Rocket invaded their forest home. Taking pokemon left and right. Shade was one of the unlucky ones to get taken. Thrown into a small, cold cage, the pichu cried for her parents who she had gotten separated from.

Shade never saw them again.

These characters are actually pretty old. Not as old as Shade but close to it. I can't even remember what I had originally planned for these two.
