i thought about it for a while, and i know what you mean. i think we've all done things in the past and totally lost track of time, and found that we were very concentrated into what we were doing, and enjoying it more than if we have a time limit.
it is very nice, but everyone wants you to concentrate on time frames. school, work, people around you.... etc.

Why are you so amazing!? Every time you come out with something I stare in awe and think it is impossible to get better, than you fold reality and logic to form something like this...

I've never liked the concept of time, it always appeared to limiting to me. Of course, I cannot deny that it exists in some form, even though the only time that can truly be proven is now, the past cannot be reached and the future cannot be seen.

Another piece that transcends beauty...

haha ... thanks for such uplifting words but i am just being patient with my work and i suppose that accounts for the detailing.. and regarding the composition i spend a great deal of time and energy visualizing the way i'd like to express a thought or a feeling.

exactly! why bother about past or future .. you are here right now dammit!!! ..

"live each present moment completely and the future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty of each instant" -- Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda (an Indian philosopher/saint)

i never understood what he meant by this when i was young ...but now i can comprehend what he meant and even experience the truth behind the statement...

That reminds me of a book, ever read "Be Here Now"?

It is a philosiphical book, I own a copy (Actually found it on the road, one man's trash is anothers treasure.) and it is a really interesting book.

And back to the topic of time, if you think about it is merely a concept.

The past is only existant through memories in the present, the future doesn't exist until it comes into the current moment, then it becomes the past in an instant.

I fully agree with that quote, spend every SECOND like it is your last, respect the forces that are at work as whatever they are, if things didn't go 100% the same as they did in the instants that have past, you would probably not exist in the present.

shadedmirrors In reply to TheScienceNerd [2008-09-05 18:08:30 +0000 UTC]

No i haven't read that book... (i need to start reading a lot more anyway)

absolutely! make the most of the present by respecting the very existence of it and the future will automatically take care of itself ..

TheScienceNerd In reply to shadedmirrors [2008-09-06 02:33:17 +0000 UTC]

It is a very interesting book. When you read it's text it seems to be jumbled speech for the most part, but you understand exactly what is written.

And yes, life is to be lived and not to be feared, respected and not despised.

Beautiful as usual. I especially love the chains at the bottom and the hypnotic effect of the blue rays at the edges.

shadedmirrors In reply to airbornefishies [2008-09-04 14:37:43 +0000 UTC]

thank you! ... yeah the hypnotic effect was a bit experimental ..i wanted to use it to direct the observers eve to the clock ...i dunno if that has worked though

I'm on the road right now, but had to fave this in the little time I have to check (ironic, considering the subject)...I will be back to look at this again. My first impression is magical and powerful...psychedelic...

shadedmirrors In reply to labornthyn [2008-09-04 14:45:26 +0000 UTC]

hehe exactly ...ironic.
well your first impressions are quite uplifting ..but take your time i really want your critique on this piece as i really have no clue as to how much of the meaning really stands out.. maybe i have gotten too used to seeing this piece for the last few weeks and might have overlooked weaker aspects of the composition ...

Lelan In reply to ??? [2008-09-03 18:46:38 +0000 UTC]

I really like this, it jives what what I think is beautiful.

Do you paint? I really think that would help make your work even better.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadedmirrors In reply to Lelan [2008-09-04 14:51:18 +0000 UTC]

thank you! ... i don't paint as ive never really had dedicated time for art (quite ironic considering this piece) as i am studying something not at all related to art and these works are like breathers from my studies... so the media i use is well suited for my requirements as of now.. but i WILL not lie on my death bed without having tried paints sometime during the course of my life ...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lelan In reply to shadedmirrors [2008-09-04 19:48:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm in a similar situation actually. Even though my studies are more related to science I still find myself caring more about my drawings. I too, will eventually learn to paint...
