Somethings are needless to say,We dive into the darkness
When everything fades to gray...
Such an inspiring song it is, Sonata Actica's "Everything Fades To Gray" I mean.
I was struck by inspiration as if it was a lightning that struck me. I just had to paint this one. It's not vent art or anything, just something that suddenly popped in my mind. The original title and idea was simply "Falling" but I thought it was boring so I coloured it up a little with the help of previously mentioned song. I fixed the title a bit, I think 'fall' was better than 'dive' since the dragon is obviously falling and has almost given up struggling to get back up.I like how this turned out. It was nice to paint something not so colourful for a change. And of course it had to be a dragon; I love drawing membrane wings.
What's more, I finally managed to create some nice salt textures! I think the whole darkness/cloud/smoke thing looks very nice altogether.

Your use of movement in this piece is wonderful, the alternating lines of movement are almost dizzying. Your color and shadowing on the dragon itself also add to the animated look of the painting. Stupendous work, good job!

This is amazing... I really love the contrast, and there are so many shapes and so much texture, it really takes your eye around the whole piece! I love the feeling of movement and I love the techniques you have used in this water color! You did make some nice salt textures XD This is really fantastic!

Todella taitava työ! Arvostan sitä miten ihmiset jaksavat vielä tehdä vesiväreillä ja muilla perinteisellä väreillä töitä

Itse taas pidän enemmän näistä perinteisistä menetelmistä. Digitaalinen taide on myös mukavaa, varsinkin, kun olen päässyt siihen paremmin kiinni. Silti perinteinen väkertäminen on lähempänä sydäntä, siten saa tehtyä paljon sellaista, mitä digitaalisesti voi olla hankalampi tehdä. Esimerkiksi juuri vesivärejä voi käyttää vaikka miten.
Työ taitanee korkeudessaan olla aika lailla saman korkuinen kuin A4. Tämä oli jämäpala jonkin verran A4 arkkia suuremmasta vesiväripaperiarkista eikä sellaisenaan ihan mahtunut skanneriin, joten leikkelin sitä vähän. ^^' Aika epämääräisen kokoinen, siis.

Ahaa, sen kokoinen. Oli vähän hankala ajatella ensin, että kuinka suuri työ on koska se oli niin pitkä. Ajattelin sitä ensin huomattavasti isommaksi o:
Voisin kyllä joskus koittaa öljyvärejä. Menin sellaiset ostaan joku aika sitten enkä ole vieläkään jaksanu koittaa niitä. Iso kangastauluki olis odottamassa maalaustaan kotonani.

Pituus on kyllä hämäävä. Varmaan tuo sommittelukin tekee osansa tuosta vaikutelmasta. Tämä tiedosto taitaa olla kutakuinkin saman kokoinen kuin originaalikin, ehkä sekin hämää. :3
Öljyvärit ovat hauskoja. :> Itsellänikin on parit, mutta niitä ei ole tullut kotona käytettyä. Lähinnä käytän akryylejä, koska ne ovat niin paljon vaivattomampia ja kuivuvat nopeammin (eikä niissä tarvita tärpättiä).

Ahihi, muistin juuri että ostin jonku akryyliväripaketin lidlistä xD En tiedä onko kovin laadukkaat, sillä en ole niitäkään jaksanu kummemmin kokeilla.
Taidan uudenvuoden lupauksena koittaa enemmään perinteisellä tavoilla piirtämistä ja värittämistä : D
