My entry of the Kick Your Own @ss! -contest. I hope I'm not late

So, I redid this old picture I still like. And hate. The quality of the old version is quite horrible and it gave me a perfect excuse to redo this picture.
For the first version I used about 2-3 hours and only one pencil - HB. Uhh, what a pain. I still remember what it was like, colouring those vast areas with no patience at all. Nowadays I have the patience to use rough, high quality paper, different pencil hardnesses and a lot of time. Even though I'm submitting this in the last minute - again for a change XD - I didn't rush on it. I used a good 10 hours on it, maybe more, and enjoyed every minute. Making art should be something you enjoy, not something you must do or something unpleasant. To improve as an artist you should learn to do different things even though they're not you're favourite ones. I hated colouring vast areas but in the newer piece I found it quite fun. It just has it's own tricks. And those areas look better in the new piece, don't they. I've also learnt something about colouring and contrasts, shading and such. And making wrinkles in clothing and maybe something about wolf and human anatomy. Also the composition looks much better and the new version has some perspective, too. I managed to include more details that are done wih more care than on the old one. The BAD scan ate those details, though, escpeailly my favourite detail, the Eggman. (See newer version's artist's comments.) I'll upload a better scan when my own computer works again.
And something about Lord Mithril, too. While realizing that I have grown as an artist myself, Mithril seems to be more mature and charateristic than before. He has an expression! And better looking clothing. And some eye for a woman's beauty. Or what do you think he leers at with such grin? >8)
I've learnt a lot in two years but there's still a lot remaining. Improving as an artist is an ongoing road that never ends. ...sounds like I'm trying to be so wise 'DD But it is so. And learning, realizing that Ihave improved makes drawing even more fun!

(And I STILL don't use references! >8D)

N O T E ! My computer is whinging currently and that's why I needed to use ~Pena-Mies 's scanner which really hates pencil works. She kindly let me scan this for the contest, but I'll try to scan a better one when my computer works well again.
