In case you still don't know what's going on... Two pictures in a day! This must be a new record.
I wanted to draw the generic fire fox starter because even if it's very generic, I like it a lot. The design is nice and simple and what's even better, it's not very likely to evolve into a Fire/Fighting type. I hope. But yeah, I'm gonna pick Fennekin when I get the games. I like the other two starters, too, but Fennekin is just too adorable.
I think Fennekin might set a small fire to protect itself while it's sleeping. It's hard to draw these new Pokemon since we know so little about them. Well, I wanted to draw a fire fennec sleeping inside a ring of fire.
I'll draw the deer legendary tomorrow. Saving the best for last.

I always have hard time with Kanto and Hoenn starters, I like them all. Losing your starter in a Nuzlocke is really sad and it hurts. A lot.

Fennekin is indeed adorable, I'll likely start with him as well, depending on how the evos turn out (some fanmade evos are pretty badass for all starters. If they're gonna look a bit like those it's gonna be a tough call!). Well, given the moves he used in the trailer, I actually think it'll be a fire/psychic type. Also since foxes are tricksters in Asian mythology, and fennecs being somewhat related.
And yay, someone else who's fond of Xenreas 
Hell, I'm buying a 3DS for these games. Full 3D, new gen that looks promising, old gens returning? Just throw in an extra continent and fun minigames and you have my money, Nintendo. All of it!

I agree, there are some prtty great fanmade evos for Fennekin. I'm also waiting for the evo designs and typings to be released before making my pick, but I'll most likely get Fennekin first. (I was thinking about Blindlocking Y when it comes out, might be a challenge since I know absolutely nothing about the new Pokemon.) I'm quite sure it'll be a Fire/Psychic. It would be awesome. I might also end up with Chespin since I think it has a lot of potential. I'm actually more excited about its evolution than Fennekin's.

Froakie has some great fanmade evos as well. I rather like the "old and wise sumo warrior"-look people give him, and with Samurott that look is actually not so far-fetched.
Hmmm, aren't we all hoping for Fennekin to turn into Amaterasu? xD The fanmade evos do look like that at least, and I don't mind.

Chespin could indeed be promising. Altough the grass/dark type has a lot of extra weaknesses and only a few rarer resistances (dark and ghost), it does give him an edge over Fennekin by being immune to psychic moves. A bit like the whole Torterra vs Infernape thing in G4. C'mon Nintendo, just show us their evos!
I'm still price checking. For once the internet seems like the worst option on that matter, with local stores being at least 10-20 euros cheaper than online retailers. I might go for the 3DS XL, most people who tried it agree it's a lot easier on the eyes with a bigger screen. One of my friends said she found a retail model for only 160 euros, a vast improvement over the 210 they ask on Amazon. Anyway, with my monthly budget of 150, it'll be saving up time. Can't actually believe I'm getting a new Nintendo handheld, I was the guy who tried it once, found it "ok", and went back to PC and home consoles xD
Well, I'm not sure. I did really enjoy Leafgreen, and Heartgold was, as far as I've played it (stuck in a frozen Nuzlocke, remember? xD ), very enjoyable, but I really hope they throw in a bunch of extra features for an RSE remake. The way the game is now, it didn't age well and looks bleak compared to other Pokémon games (took me a while, but except for having to EV-train to clean sweep the battle tower I literally ran out of stuff to do. I have all berries except for the one on Mirage Island, National Dex only requires a few Firered and cheat Pokémon, I collected every single item in the game world, all quests are done, I have the maximum money amount, and I have maximum tier prizes in all contests.). Heh, and now I suddenly come to the realization that I will have quite some importing to do from Sapphire to X. I have almost every Pokémon on my computer for the National Dex. Yes, every. Single. One. All evolutions. I'm missing maybe 20 species. And yes, they're organised dex-wise. It just feels great to scroll through my PC. Gotta do something with all that storing space, right? 
Will probably be different with X/Y, finally I'll have easy online connectivity on a DS, I'm gonna do so much battling xD Hmmm, maybe I could try to prepare an EV-team on Sapphire for import. Pick a few safe bets like Tyranitar and Dragonite and see what the new gen brings. I doubt a Dragon Dance Tyranitar will suddenly become completely irrelevant in this gen.
By the way, how do you feel about the idea that this new region might be Europe-inspired? With buildings in the trailer resembling Paris (*cough* Eiffel Tower *cough*) and a few places in the UK, it does seem likely. Personally, I think this is awesome. Who knows, I might actually visit "Finland"

They all have some very cool fan evos. Some sort of old and wise warrior -type would be great for Froakie. As for Fennekin, I hope it's not going to be like Amaterasu. I hope it's not too similar with Ninetales, because I fear a starter might overshadow it. I love Ninetales. I kind of hope to see something unique and a bit bizarre for Fennekin's evo, not something generic.
Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic and Water/Fighting would make a perfect balanced circle. Also, the typings have so much potential design-wise that it needs to happen.
I happened to find a cheap used 3DS that was in excellent condition, just for 120€. New ones are at least 160€ and 3DS XL is so ridiculously expensive that I didn't even consider it.
I think the Hoenn games were great. I don't judge a game by the post game stuff but by the actual gameplay. A good game doesn't necessarily need a ton of post game stuff in my opinion. Sure it allows to to spend a few more hours with the game, but that's about it. For example, I think there was way too much post game stuff in BW2. I still haven't done anything after beating the E4.
I might have a bit different views since I don't do battling and I don't even try to catch them all. I usually catch all the Pokemon available in the game, but that's about it. I don't like cheating so I know I can never fully complete a dex.
I love the idea of the possible Europe-inspired region! But I doubt they'd include Finland. We're such a desolate country that Finland would probably be depicted as an ice cube where all the citizens would be grumpy and speak with phrases up to three words.

Odd story though, if you look through my gaming history for Pokemon 9/15 times I have played a game I chose the fire type.

I have a quite even history with starters. It all depends on the Pokemon, not really the type. I think I like the water starters the most in general, but Cyndaquil is my fav and I really like Torterra as well.

I wrote around 25 articles now in the last three days about pokemon y x..the starters, yveltal and xerneas too and well..am a bit burned out
Fun fact, while Fennekin seems to be the most popular one here on dA, on game art hq i get the most visitors through chespin, it can be because all kinds of factors related to google but the most people finding my articles and the website through the new pokemon searched for keywords like chespin, chespin render, shespin art etc.
Personally i like Xerneas the most so far but it will be interesting to see the evolved forms of the three starters

Even though its popularity is starting to get annoying, I still might pick this guy since he's cute and might no t be fighting. As long as he doesn't eveolve into a Kung Fu Foxy, I'll love him forever.
I like the other ones too, but after a 3 gen drought of unoriginal firse starters, it will be a relief to have nothing off putting about this one.

Chespin's starting to grow on me. I think he might have a good evo and if foxy disappoints then he'll be my first choice. As of now, he's #2.
