Description
I find inspiration in many places. Art, music, sky, emotions, patterns on bathroom floor tiles. This particular piece was indeed inspired by a pattern I saw on a bathroom floor tile. I saw this creature, sketched it and created a world around it. I created this piece in one sitting and surprisingly quickly, too. It only took me a little over five hours to finish it. It actually made me feel like I'm doing something wrong because usually I really take my time. :'D But the way it turned out speaks otherwise, at least to me.
But yeah, skulls, deer, space. Some of my favourite things. This was a really fun piece to do.
I hope you like it!
The title sucks btw.

Wow, I'm not the only one who's got bathroom tiles that look a lot like otherworldly creatures, huh? I've never drawn them though. Trust me, you're at a level of skilful that even rushed jobs can look good. Beautiful scape of galactic space, and the comet-like trail of the deer's hooves kind of make it appear to be skidding on snow or ice, and that coupled with it being a deer in the night sky makes this picture strangely reminiscent to the Night Before Christmas. Throwing in the skull and it's almost got a Nightmare Before Christmas vibe, just without the twisted, Burton-style wack factor. Nice job, it's cool how you draw inspiration from so many things!

I actually draw the things I see very rarely. Only when it's particularly inspiring (or when it has skulls) I grab a pen and doodle it and see if it'll go anywhere.
Anyway, thank you very much! This work wasn't really rushed, I just worked on it with such intensity that I managed to finish it faster than I thought. Also, the background was really quick to do. I think I may have learned some stuff so I can just do it without much flailing around thinking "how do I dooo thisss".

I am so glad I am not the only one who draws things from weird patterns in things. You have no idea...
One of my characters came from a bathroom tile...and another from the weird stucko-stuff on walls.
Buh, that aside. Your piece here is super fun~! I love all the pretty stars and light. I could go on, but I feel like I'm rambling already. Haha.

I see all kinds of stuff everywhere but I don't draw them as often as I'd like. Sometimes, like this time, I simply have to. My older piece "Wise" was also inspired by a stain on a wall.
But thank you!

I used to take pictures all the time so I would remember to draw the weird things later. God I miss having a camera...
I had to look up the piece again, but I remember when you posted I guess I just missed the comments or I think I would have said something about it. *laugh*

So cool, so pretty. ~
I just like the idea of a creature as a shooting star, and it seems to be headed for a galaxy. Makes you wonder.
I can barely believe where you said the inspiration came from. It's like inspiration can come from anywhere, any time.
