Description
Boring title, messy categories. Ah, isn't this fun?Anyway, this is my entry for 's water contest. I didn't have any great ideas and I just started to draw this thinking "I might as well give it a try though this isn't so original or great." I like how it turned out, though. I'm not good in drawing anthro characters so there may be many mistakes. At least the colours are pretty. Yellow again, huh?
I tried to depict some of water's features as an element like transparency, flow, ability take a "form" and also made it look a bit magical by making the water take form of a bird. I think water is a really fascinating element. It is my favourite among air. The white tiger anthro is here just because tiger like water and I felt like drawing a white tiger. :3
Hope you like it!
Edit: Takes part in 100 Techniques Challenge with theme 61. Draw an anthromorphic character.
Media Watercolours | Derwent Watercolour pencils | inks

Title...boring?
I don't know about you, but that's what really caught my interest!...yeah, i know not to judge a book by its cover, but still...
Really, I like air and water about the same...as if I knew what the other elements were!;D
Especially when they (water & air) mix...they make shadows. You know...clouds and air bubbles. Well, maybe not so much w/ the bubbles, but...
I love the work, it looks like you put a lot of time in it...certainly more than six hours. I'm having a hard time believing it! then again, I just made a semi-detailed sketch in about an hour...I just posted it.
I DO like it!;D

To me it sounds like a clichΓ©, but I'm glad you like the title.
You're so right with that one. Clouds are one of my favourite things in nature. I love watching them, how they make so differen't forms and how there are so many kinds of clouds. I also love drawing them.
Watercolours + coloured pencils is one of my favourite techniques precisely because it is such a fast technique. It really doesn't take longer than that and it's pretty easy, too.
Thank you very much! :>

Ooooh that's LOVELY! Seriously, I reckon this will wipe the floor with the competition. The water is beautiful and I almost didn't notice the bird, it's a nice subtle touch.
Great colouring, it looks so vibrant. Best of luck!
Oh yeah, and I don't mean to press, but... you said you'd do Cobalt? Sometime? I'm not saying do it now or anything, I just wanted to remind you

Thank you so much!
Of course, my chances to win would've been much better if I had made it in time. Apparently the deadline was, again, one of that kind I hate. You couldn't post anything on the given deadline day but you should've done it before that day. I never know which one it is and it's realli deceiving. I was quite disappointed, though, but I'll try to make this loss a win by making prints of this very picture to sell in a convention. I hope some people buy it.
Yup, I haven't forgotten about it. I have a to-do list with all arts I should do but until July I can't do anything except con stuff. I have to make a couple of prints and a cosplay and then I'm done. And this time I might be on time!

No problem! Ah, that old deadline problem. Maybe you should just generally aim for the day before the deadline, just to make sure? That way you have a bit of leeway... I'd definately buy it if I were there, trust me
Awesome, just checking, now I know you have it under control

Maybe I reall should. Well, at least I've made it to two contests in time within two weeks! I posted both entries (one for a contest held in dA, one for a contest held by a Finnish magazine) several days before the actual deadline. AND I've done a huge dump of art for a convention, which is this weekend, and I'm already done with everything. I still have a cosplay to finish but I can handle that.
I'm quite proud of myself for being in time.
I think I'll post some of the art I've made for the convention. Not all, but some. For example a Princess Mononoke watercolour painting I made. I took some prints of that picture to sell, too.

So you're getting better at it, lol! Good luck with it all!
That would be cool, I'd love to see it! I love Princess Mononoke.

Princess Mononoke is one of my top favourites. It was apleasure to paint the picture. I've been wanting to do so for a long time! I think I'll post it here on Sunday if I have time to.

Excellent Have you sen Sprited Away as well? And Howl's Moving Castle? Although that last one, they changed the book and it doesn't have the right ending. And they took out Wales.

Yes. I've seen both of them. Actually there are only a few Studio Ghibli's movies that I haven't seen.
I read Howl's Moving Castle, too, and you're right, they're pretty different. Even so, I still love Howl's Moving Castle, it's one of my favourites.
I'll submit the Princess Mononoke picture today, by the way.

Well, my chances to win could've been much bigger if I had submitted this in time... I thought that entries were allowed to be submitted on the deadline day (which was 15th June) but apparently they shoudl've been submitted before the deadline day. Man Ihate it when people use different kinds of deadlines.
Anyway, thank you very much!

apart from the small detail that he has a 12 pack but isn't as muscular on the rest of his body, i really like this drawing, especially with it being traditional. *faves*
