Fanart of Symmetra from Overwatch! She's one of the heroes I like to play from time to time and I love her concept. I have been wanting to draw her for a while and it took some time to get a good idea. I knew I wanted to do a piece inspired by Epica's song "Beyond The Matrix" because it reminds me of Symmetra and it fits her aesthetic. I chose Symmetra's Oasis skin since that is definitely her best skin and maybe the best skin of all to date (although Grillmaster 76 is a tough opponent).
I posted a few wips of the process on my IG and Tumblr so if you follow those you knew to expect this piece! It was very much fun to paint it once I figured out how to work the colours. For this I made a digital colour composition guide to make sure the colours were in harmony. Sadly my scanner didn't like the finished piece so much and the colours were all wonky. Hate it when it does that.

Most of The Holographic Principle seems to fit her, really, though I can't help but think of "Dancing in a Hurricane" because of her backstory in poverty (and the sitars, man). I love how your incorporated the feel of the album into the background and still managed to make all those contrasting color palettes feel like they belong together. The scanner didn't mess with that as much as you thought
