What is unity?
Unity is an easy game development program, used to develop games for Mac, Windows, Iphone, and Wii.
It is available on Mac and Windows.

Unity is the program I use to stage my art (Lighting, Normal Mapping, Placement, not to model, though).
The reason i use it to stage, and not Maya or any other raytracer is because i prefer its game simplicity instead of the complicated options Maya forces you to make. Also, I am a believer in "games as art", so if what is done in unity can be considered art, then that's a step. But that's another topic.
