I’ll explain the process of reviving in the HTL and HTF alternate universe

When a Tree Friend dies, they will go to a special afterlife zone as a soul, where they will see how they died one time, and will have to wait until one of the gods come to talk to them, the ones that watch over the Happy Tree Friends/Legends universe is Terry and Yasuo, but it was originally settled for Terry first, so Terry has more chances to appear. He won’t make any judgements to the deceased Tree Friend, he will just give them words of advice and to hopefully help them and not make them go through that again, although Terry knows the nature of the Happy Tree Friends world, and wont question them if they die about the same thing over and over.

However, a Happy Tree Legend cannot afford to die, they will go through a series of tasks and judgements, and they have tiny chances to prevail, usually, Yasuo is the one to bring back the legends after completing their task. At the end of their tough task, they will find Yasuo and he will make judgements depending on how you behaved. The legends revive but they take even a longer time thanks to the complicated tasks they have to face in the afterlife. No matter how you behaved, if a Happy Tree Legend dies, they will always come back BUT with prices to pay. If you were a good legend, you do not have to go through anything, and you’ll come back, however, if a bad legend dies, Yasuo will discount them power and take it away, or take away their strongest ability so, for example, if Yang dies, he meets Yasuo after passing his series of tests, and Yasuo, knowing how Yang is (and not caring if he’s one of his sons Boyfriends), he will take the liberty to subtract 30% out of him, making his lightning less pure and much more weaker, and even forbidding him to use certain moves or elements that require full power, so he has to train hard again to reach that 30% lost by the judgement.

Oh yes, and the more they keep dying, if they’re bad legends, their power discount gets bigger and bigger

Sometimes they switch roles too, not every legend or tree friend gets to see Terry or Yasuo, but if a legend gets the unfortunate luck to find Terry and they we’re bad...be warned...he’s extremely harsh and depending on what you did, he gets out of his godlike policies and takes away your element for good, making you have to train again and again and again to re-discover your element once again, and rediscovering an element it’s...extremely...patience-sucking xDDDD
Another approach that Terry can have is have you dead for good, and turn your soul into ashes, you won’t be able to return after that, so all the legends that are bad can’t afford dying even more, otherwise they’ll die...forever, unless they change and decide to be good xDDD
So it’s best to be good and please the gods above! And if you we’re very good, you could be rewarded with something extra for your elemental arsenal coming from them~!
