Uhhh, I hope I don't come off as trying to force what I want on you or anything like that at all. uwu;;;; I sort of just did this because I've gone through plenty of fursonas myself and sort of realized the aspects I like best from them all, so maybe I could help you out or something?
First of all, the stripes. They can be good sometimes, but I feel like anything (symbols/ect.) that run across the ears never really mesh with a design. I've had 5 characters with this in an attempt to make an original design, and it just always looks funky. |:c Not to say ears can't have a design, but it's usually a gradient or a trim in real life animal ears, and those sound boring, but ears aren't really meant to be a main attraction anyway, but rather a complement, which those gradients/trims can really do. As for the arms, I feel like that was for an armwarmer feel? Or something. I feel like it's really out of place with the theme of citrus so that's why I didn't include the arm-stripes and instead made the lemon markings more like fingerless-gloves. Just a recommendation, but still your fursona, so do whatever 'u'
Second, the white body. It can work occasionally with simpler gray bodies, but here in particular, it really breaks up the citrus theme. That, and I don't recommend using pure white in any design anyway, since nothing's pure white and it really limits your highlights or the dynamic lighting you can use. A form of offwhite usually works best. If you really want a whiter character still, I tried lighting the color I showed on the design I made, and it still works. Since it's tinted with the yellow, everything still feels like some form of unity even though the body looks white.
Third, the blank back. I've made this mistake soso many times. I keep thinking that it looks empty so I tried to fix it with different markings on the arms or legs but it still looked funky. Finally, I put on a back marking and everything sort of came together. I feel like my characters are awkward without it (unless you have an underbelly/simple design; those tend to work fine alone). So I put one on re-using the colors that I'd desaturated (it helps them all mesh together better and tones down the character's "rainbow" feeling/look). At first it was just orange, and then I put the yellow under it to gradient into the main pelt, and put green on the top as a dynamic color. (this was actually where I realized the green was still too bright and really helped the design come together in the long run) I noticed that on the tail and arms, the colors "bubbled" into other colors, so I sort of thought of "citrus fizz" and bubbled all the colors over into each other, making a tortoiseshell-like back. Bam, I was like "wow, I would adopt this character fff". I took it all off again to see what it would look like without the back, and everything just looked like spread out colors that didn't really come together. Again, don't need to take/follow my design, but maybe use this advice to your advantage.
That's really it then. I really have to commend you for using a citrus theme, since most people are like "emoooo/scene" fursonas/have no theme whatsoever, so kudos to you xD I hope you don't take my advice like an attack, since it's not. I just realized I've spent quite a bit of time on this, and I hope I've helped you in any way whatsoever today :'D
