UPDATE #2

right, now i'm ready to start drawing for real. the landscape shall come later...

critiques and comments very welcome.

if anyone spots something that's seriously wrong, please tell me!

UPDATE #1

so, this is starting to get into shape! of course, the hardest part is yet to come - drawing each individual frame.
but at least the rolling landscape looks neat.

major changes since last update:
- changed horse's colour to brown
- added sunset background
- made rolling sets of shrubs and trees
- erased the guides for trees and shrubs
- added lens flare effect to some frames to add realism

so, comments and critiques very welcome!

at HSH i've been asked to make an animated tag that includes a trotting horse, with rider, in the woods. as this is the starting point for all my animations, thought i should upload it now and i'll be updating as time goes by...

by the way, i'v finally managed to make two background elements rolling at different speeds (see how the front trees roll faster than the back ones), so this should be very helpful for my other animation projects.

this particular one started on pivot, with a total of 7 frames. then, after saving as gif, i noticed that it was too slow (maximum gif speed is the same as pivot's minimum speed, which is way too slow for a trot). so i opened it on photoshop, removed some frames (until there were only 5), then duplicated those 5 (because the trot has 2 actions, unlike gallop that completes 1 stride per loop). next thing i'll be doing on photoshop is marking the trees to see which ones have to be made re-appear after they disapeared on the right, and mark the front feet (the hand and leg that are closer to the observer) to know where they are at any given moment.
then it's *only* the unending task of making the skeleton on each frame and filling it with meat and hair and other features.

time taken: 1 hour (models were already done)
