It had been the same spectacle of order all afternoon, operating like clockwork. One by one, each tranced worker rose from their desk in sequence order.

Each joined the line, standing at attention to await their final fate. The line to the breakroom always five deep to ensure optional sequencing.

Every few minutes the pod doors would open, a new convert birthed forth into the break room, another sliding into the pod to take their place.

They all strode back to their desks, sitting at their stations, staring blankly forward. Their receivers blinking in rapid fire as data poured into their now empty minds.

They had all been captured.
They were all made to submit.
They joined all in service.
They had all been taken for The Collective.
