Description
This is an example of the most important shot that you need to get of a new calf on the feeding grounds as a scientist. This is a photo of Nile's 09 calf and from it we can tell she is a girl and we can see her fluke (tail) colouration, which will be used in the future to identify her if she survives and grows up to be an adult whale living off the east coast of the USA. Notice that her fluke pattern is white and grey, the grey will change to a solid black as she grows up.
If she survives and is re-sighted after her first year, she will be given a name and entered into the humpback whale catalogue.
Taken off the coast of massachussetts, USA

hehe thanks if you ever have any questions about getting into the zoology world you can always drop me a line, I always have time for fellow aspiring scientists! (Heaven knows enough people helped me by giving me advice when I was trying to get jobs/positions/interviews in teams) ^-^

Haha, don't worry, I will, especially if it is about large Baleen Whales. I know a fair lot about Toothed Whales already.
I've been studying them since I was 8 years old lol.

oh I didn't mean about actual science stuff, I already know you are jsut as knowlegable as me on that front
I meant more like 'future' descisions like if you wanted to know what subjects to study so that you can work with animals when you graduate, where the best colleges/universities are to do your training and good research teams that you can work on to get experience, that sorta thing
