I never realized just how puppetty the dogs in this show looked until looking at this redraw lmao. You put so much emotion and animation into their expressions that is sorely missing.Β
I mean you know I like your art for a NUMBER of reasons but I just keep finding more

YEAH it's really scary sometimes. if you're going to anthropomorphise dogs i dont see the reason to not give them like... better facial expressions. they never do anything with the eyes, and eyes are soo expressive, they come off like, dead inside.

As much as I love Ginga Densetsu Weed, I still can't get over the mouths constantly hanging open. And while I know that's something dogs do, it's not all the time. It ruins s of the emotion that would happen in certain scenes. Here though, it makes sense, the Kai dogs are rallying for the fight to come so it works.
Plus, I love how you gave all the Kai-ken their own unique fur patterns and eye shape, it makes them stand apart form one another and gives a nice contrast to the to the siblings of Shigure, Dodo, Buru, and Shoji along with Kurotora. Awesome work!!
