Unless you've seen the episode Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars, you won't know who I've just drawn.This is Lard Nar, one of the few remaining Vortians and the leader of the poorly named group, the Resisty. I have a real soft spot for this fellow. I like the Vortians too. So I decided to throw a shot at drawing him. I actually quite like how he came out. It's so difficult to draw in Invader Zim style art, but I'm getting the hang of it. Anyways, here you are. That special little Vortian, Lard Nar.

Oh I agree with you. My top three characters are Almighty Tallest Purple, Almighty Tallest Red, and Lard Nar.

Yay! Another fan of the Almighty Tallest. It's not too often I see another fan. Usually everyone likes either Zim or Dib the best. Of course, your icon helped give it away, as does mine. Only difference is yours is red and mine's purple. It was a difficult choice for me, third favorite.

Yeah, though I mainly see people draw more of Gaz, or Tak, rather than Zim, or Dib. Well.. Zim gets drawn a lot, but most people only draw just Dib with ZaDr. XD
I think that the first time I really watched the show, the Tallest were immediately in my top favorites, then after I really got into the show, I realized lots of my favorite characters were either minor characters no one knew/ drew, or ones everyone hated, like Lard Nar, or Sizz-Lorr. XD;

I do admit that I like Tak, but that's because I'm a supporter of ZaTr, mostly. I guess everyone just had different preferences. I understand what you mean, though.
Same here. I liked them the very first time I saw them in The Nightmare Begins. They just grew on me from there. I always have and always will love the Tallest. I'm sure my icon reveals that I prefer Purple over Red, however. My boyfriend's icon goes with mine, though. Oh yeah, I know that feeling. I know a large degree of people don't even know Lard Nar's name. It's kinda sad when you think about it.

When I first started to really appreciate Zim, I mainly just focused around the Tallest, and after going even further, I realized I preferred Red over Purple. But that was probably because when most people depict Purple, they make him cute/innocent/blah, and make Red, well... mature/stuck up. @w@
The first pairing I really even got into with Zim was RaPr.

I definitely agree that people are open-minded enough. They have a favorite pairing and they just stick to it. It's kinda sad. I have an open mind. I mean, I look and a pairing and think about whether it fits before deducing whether or not I like it.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I myself prefer Purple because I picture him as more of the comedy relief sort of character. Of course, everyone's entitled to their own portrayals of characters. I still like Red, of course.
Really? I've considered the pairing, but I'm still resting on the middle line about whether or not I like it. Maybe I'll eventually decide.

Yeah. To be honest, I've got to have, like, at least ten different pairings I love, but my OTP is a tie between RaPr, and DaLNr. XD
Yeah, when I read some things on the Tallest in the wikia, Pur's usually described as just the comic relief of the two. But apparently, their voices were originally going to be switched... So, I have no idea how that would have worked out. owo
There's no need to dive into anything, I suppose. ^v^ I like the pairing because, just like ZaDr, I guess, there's a whole lot you can do with the characters, like switching up who does what and why, and the fluff between them is always just the sweetest. And I hate fluff. X3;

I like lots of different pairings from lots of different shows. Pairing characters together is one of my favorite things about watching cartoons and anime and such. I think that would've been a trifle awkward if they had their voices switched. I just couldn't picture Purple sounding like Red and Red sounding like Purple. Even before I heard them speak, when I was looking up info on the show, I always thought Red would be more serious. He just looked the part.
Exactly. I have all the time in the world to think about it and consider my opinion. I can see the pros in the couple, though. I guess I just need more time to think about it. Lol~

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always thought it was stupid when people complained about fans pairing characters from the show together just in general. I mean, it's the natural part of a fandom. It's like complaining about the sun rising and falling. It's going to happen, and there's really nothing you can do to stop it, so quit complaining. BT
When I first ever watched the show, I was about... seven, or eight. And the first episodes I watched were Germs and Dark Harvest. And I was scarred for life. XD I literally had nightmares for, like, a year.
But then back in 2010, I tried it again, and I found out I really loved it. So, I guess life works in odd ways. XD; But when I first saw the Tallest, I originally thought they were just goofy older guys. But no, they're teenagers, and they're actually really cool characters. I really loved what Jhonen did with their designs later on, too. And Red's color scheme. @w@

Oh yeah, I know that well. I mean, I don't like all pairings from the show. For example, I find ZaDr to be highly ridiculous, but I don't go around hating on everyone who likes the pairing. In fact, I have some artwork attaining to the very pairing I dislike simply because the artwork is good. I respect what other people want to think because frankly, they're allowed to like whatever they want.
I think I saw my first episode when I was maybe the same age. All I know is that my first true episode I saw was Hamstergeddon. Second was Room with a Moose. I didn't really get interested. I tried again when I got older and I liked it a lot more. When I first saw the Tallest, I admit, I wasn't too impressed. I guess something just changed my mind. Now I can't imagine having any other favorite characters other then the Tallest. Both Red and Purple are amazing. :3

Yeah, I know. @w@ I really didn't like ZaDr at first, but I'm just kind of getting use to the idea. I guess I mainly didn't like it because it was too, erm... "mainstream," if I may, but it's pretty interesting. Definitely not my favorite, but it's just fine. Some pairings, like ZaGr, and well, all Tak pairings, I really don't think I will ever like, but it's not like it's all in my face (most of the time), so I don't really have a big issue with it. People like what they like. @w@
I must admit, when you get into the show, your opinions change about a lot of characters. I also have to say, when you first make an FC, it can damage your views on some characters, like if you ship them with a canon. @_@; I did that for a time, until I realized how silly and annoying it was. XD
For instance, I didn't like Dib too much at first, I loved Zim, of course, never liked Gaz, Gir, or Tak, and the rest of the characters I had no emotions towards. BT
Now, I love both Zim and Dib. My views towards Gaz, Tak and Gir haven't changed, but I've decided that Gaz is alright, I'm just not too fond of her. Maybe I never liked Gir because of his popularity, but he's okay, too. Tak, by far, will always be my least favorite character, but I don't hate her too strongly, nor do I hate people who like her. The only thing I really like about Tak, though, would probably be her voice. XD

I stick firmly to not liking ZaDr, but it doesn't mean that other people can't like it. We hold a great example of respecting others preferences. I personally like Tak and support ZaTr, but you're allowed not to. It's the fun of supporting other people's opnion.
Oh yeah, I understand that completely. My opinions definitely changed once I got into Invader Zim more. I rarely ship with canon characters. I just find it difficult to do. I have an Invader OC named Kiarda and thought I have hinted several times at her having a crush on Red, I instead ship her with Quill, who is essentially my boyfriend as an Irken.
I actually found Zim and Dib both annoying when I first watched the show. It wasn't until later that I started liking either of them. I really like Tak, but that's just me. I'm allowed to like Tak and you're allowed not to. I'm alright with Zim and Dib now. Like them both. I think Gir is funny, but that's about it. I don't like Gaz and that's simple enough. I do have to agree, though, Tak's voice is amazing. I also like Mimi, but that's because I'm a sucker for cats. My Irken OC has a cat disguise for her SIR unit as well. Even if it looks startlingly like a combination of a Liepard from Pokemon and Mimi herself.
It's fine. I read it all and respond accordingly. Besides, you've sparked my interests. I never get to have this complex of Invader Zim conversations with anyone because most of my friends don't know what Invader Zim is.

To be honest, recently, I've really started to focus on some more popular pairings, and ideas, mainly to see what all of the fuss was about. Some of it I liked, some of it I didn't, and some of it I mainly had no feelings towards. After I really got into the show, I realized I loved the minor/background characters more than the real, up close and personal characters of the show. I like the main four just fine, but I really love the minor characters, and the ones who were basically just mentioned once, and never looked after again (ex: Sizz-Lorr, Dwicky,) but I do love some of the bigger minor characters (like Skoodge) because, well, we really didn't get to know much about them, and it was a cute idea to bring them back in cancelled episodes. I know for a fact there was a cancelled episode that was Tak centered, Top of the Line, but, well, it was cancelled, so... XD
I've really wanted to make a Fan Character recently because I thought I was missing out on something for a bit, but, I don't know... I'm super picky about what I make, and it's so bloody hard to make a character I just click with. T_T
Yeah, I know, this has been a pretty interesting conversation. Rarely do I get to have a real talk like this, but then again, I don't move too far around the fandom to have anyone to really talk with.

I like doing that. As I mentioned before, I give everything a chance before I judge it as something I don't like, and that goes for pairings too. I'm with you on the liking of side characters. I mean, I don't mind the main characters, but I much prefer the side ones that nobody really thinks much about. I personally like Skoodge. I would've loved to see more of him in the show. I think he had potential to be a great character and they just rarely ever used him. Yeah, I was kinda disappointed when they canceled the series. I was really looking forward to some, or rather most, of the new episodes and they never got to be. I kinda wish they would've at least finished off the season before closing the door on it. I've got a lot of Invader Zim fan characters, Irken, Vortians, and even humans. I've even got two Almighty Tallest that exist in a far future where Red and Purple no longer exist. I've only ever designed two of my fan characters all the way through and that would be Invader Kiarda and her SIR unit Valkrye. Otherwise, I never was able to finish my designs. I say just keep working on it until you find something that works for you.
Oh most certainly. I've been enjoying this conversation, even if it's far more then I'm used to typing. Most of my friends are either not into Invader Zim and more into Pokemon. I mean, I guess it's my fault for coming here a Pokemon fan, but nobody really understands Invader Zim like I do. I personally love RPs, but since only a couple of my friends understand Invader Zim, I rarely get to use my fan characters in RP.

Yeah, you know, I really liked Skoodge, and even though most of the people I meet absolutely love him, there really isn't much fan art of him, and I find that to be a shame. BT
Even though I do love the show a whole lot, I really don't think I'd like it if they just randomly brought it back out of the blue. It was great while it lasted, and it really belonged in the 2000's. Now, we're a new... erm, more simple minded generation, and it would be quite a bother if so many more people were brought over into the fandom that really have no idea what they're doing, and why, but just that they like the show. And people who walk around in those Gir shirts from Hot Topic, and the first thing they blurt out when I tell them about Invader ZIM is "Gir!" -_- Sadly, pretty much everyone, or every girl in my school is like that, even my mom, who recently got into the show...
I did have some Fan Characters a very long while ago, back when I first got into the show, but they were such... "sues." I mean, one was much taller than the Tallest, she had hair, wore pants, lived with Zim, bluck... There were some I toyed with, but never got around to really caring about. I did have one, interesting character, Miziz the "Litran," which was just an odd, cannibalistic fish race I created, and her SIR unit, ICU. I never really nailed her design, anyway. Right now, I have created at least one character that has somewhat sparked my interest, a Vort named Rigor Mortis. His design is a bit much, and there are some elements I may remove, but he's cute, none the less. I really have a craving to make an irken, but I think the biggest thing I have a problem with is their occupations, clothes type (whether to give them basic clothing, or try something else), eye color, etc. I guess I'll just figure all that out later. I'm also mainly into making males, but I do doodle around with female antennae ideas sometimes. ^^
In RL, most of my friends are either crazy about Adventure Time, "Fionna and Cake" especially, or, well, they have no idea what Invader Zim is. There is also one who thinks the show is, quote: "stupid", but she's never really been satisfied with much on television, anyway. @_@ I really love RPs as well, since I first started off doing them on iScribble, but then left when most of my friends started leaving. Back then I did really simplistic RPs (ex: with the *s for what they do, and the rest is quoting), but now, I'm really into the more complex kind. I also mainly do romance, but lately I've been craving something different. And, well, I'm already doing six different romance RP's with three different people, so I think it won't hurt to try something new. XD;
