Yeah some of the villians are weird but they have connections to like, the first or fourth doctor. Its sometimes disappointing when they do that too much, harder for a larger audience to see it all.

Well, you have to turn away to grab the hammer or pick axe if you don't already have it, in that time they may kill you.

Ah. What about knocking them over? Because (trust me) stone statues tend to break when they're knocked over, especially parts like wings.

Angels tend to regenerate after a period of time. I'm guessing you've seen time of the angels if you've seen the 11th Doctor. All those statues were angels, by the end of the episode they were almost fully regenerated. Knocking them over might give you the chance to flee but itsnot a guarantee you'll escape them.
