Description
The third part of the Elements series. It probably isn't obvious, but this is a bombardier beetle. It's a species best known for it's defense mechanism of rapidly shooting pulses of water and a combination of catalytic enzymes that, when mixed together, violently explode in a chemical fireball of boiling liquid. As you might guess, keeping your cool through activities like meditation is extremely important when you have a flamethrower for a butt.
And in case anyone is interested, here's some WIP shots:

Aw, he's kind of cute in a totally gross bug way! This came out really awesome, too! And I love the WIP shots -- he's way better than a silly old fox.

Hehe. It was really weird trying to figure out how to anthropomorphize a beetle. Especially the feet. They have WEIRD feet. O_o He actually looked a little too creepy for a while. It's amazing what some anime-sized reflections in the eyes can do for cuteness.
Anyway, thankee!
