Ch.1

Egypt was prospering, the people were well fed, the plague hadn't struck in years, and everyone was happy. At the palace in the center of the kingdom, the pharaoh looked at the young life that had just been born in his hands.
"My dearest son, you will rule this kingdom as the great king I know you are destined to become," the pharaoh whispered.
"My son and the future king of Egypt, Atem,"
~Nine years later
A palace guard rushed to the pharaoh.
"My Pharaoh, the enemy is here.And they have those who can comand shadow creatures!" the guard excalimed.
"Understood, the high priest are ready to go. I will lead our kingdom to peace and safety again, even if it's the last thing I do," the pharaoh said.
The guard nodded and ran back to his post. The pharaoh knelt down to his son's height.
"My son, I want you to stay safe and rule this land well," the pharaoh hugged hi son for possibly the last time before he went to the battle waiting outside.

~~~~Many years later~
"My King, a group of shadow creatures have been spotted,"
"I see, where?"
"Not to far from the outside of the edge of the kingdom,"
"I understand, ready my horse I will leave immedately,"
The guard nodded and took off. The pharaoh rose from the throne and walked quickly out of the palace. The guard already had the horse ready and was waiting. The pharaoh mounted and was just about to leave,
"May the great gods watch over you and keep you safe, King Atem,"
Atem nodded his thanks and kicked the horse.

"The time has finally come, the great battle for the world will finally begin,"
"Yes, but do you believe that that young man will be able to rise against the great odds against him?"
"I do, he is the king that will bring true peace to this world. I will see to it,"
"What do you mean 'you will see to it'?"
"I mean, I will make sure that he does not waver in his fight. That he will not stray from his destiny,"
"But, if you do that then that means that you will become just as weak as those humans!"
"Not all humans are weak, Ra,"
"Ra means, that there are far too many weaked hearted humans who would gladly do harm to you for power. We can not let you go, it's to dangerous,"
"I know the risk, and I will be careful,"
"If you must know then at least allow us to send you with the protection we can give. After all, with out you, we are also nothing."
"Very well, if you must. I thank you and promise to return,"

Atem was almost at the edge of the kingdom and could clearly see the shadow creatures.
"What are they doing? They are gathered in one place. This isn't normal behavior,"Atem thought to himself.
As he rode closer there was a bright flash and he had to put his hand up to shield his eyes. As the light slowly died away, Atem saw that all of the shadow creatures were gone.
"What's going now here?"
As he approched the spot he came to a small oisis, and he saw a young woman standing by the water. She apperantly heard him because she whipped around. He slowly dismounted the horse and looked around, no shadow creatures to be seen. He looked back at the woman. She had dark golden yellow hair that fell around the middle of her back. She was about his height not even an inch shorter. He looked at her dark blue eyes, which were filled with fear and curiousity. She looked completely exhausted.
Her clothes were covered in dust and looked no more than rags.
"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you,"Atem reassured her.
The woman seemed to relax a bit.
"What happened here? Are you hurt?" Atem asked.
The woman looked at him curiously.
"You're not hurt are----"
Atem barely managed to catch her as she collasped from exhaustion. He could sense a strange power coming from her He looked around again.
"There's no one else here. Is it possible that she was the reason the shadow creatures were here? And could she have possibly destroyed them all? In any case she's completely exhausted, I'll take her to the palace and she can rest there," Atem thought to himself. He gently picked her up and carefully mounted the horse, her sittind in front of him, head resting on his shoulder.
He looks at her again,"Who is this woman?"

"You will have to come back as soon as you can. Even our power can't protect you completely when you are in that form,"
"Yes, I know,"
"Being one of them also means that you will have their foolish emotions do not get attached to anyone,"
"Your concer is miplaces, Ra. I don't intend to get attached to anyone. My mission is to help from the shadows and I will do just that."
"Very well, just come back to us quickly, Orb."
"I will Slifer, I will."
