Description
Naali slowly entered the rubble-filled hallway, her footsteps falling silently upon the debris covered floor. She could hear her fellow jedi knight, Nate Raine, stepping silently behind her. She knew Nate didn’t agree with the fact that she had taken the lead, but he also knew that she was better at sensing the smallest pulse of force energy. She continued forward, then halted suddenly, her eyes growing wide. Nate paused as he noticed the sudden worried look upon Naali’s face and quickly drew his lightsaber but did not ignite it.Naali took a sudden step back just as the floor ahead of them exploded upward. As the dust cleared, a white furred wookie stood on the other side of the hole in the floor, a snarl on his face. His white furr was covered with black runic markings and he held an unlit lightsaber in both hands. With a growl both of his lightsabers flared to life, their crimson glow filling the hallway. Naali took as step back, her hand going to her own lightsaber as the Wookie made a move to jump across the gap to attack her.
At the same time, Naali heard the familiar sound of Nate’s lightsaber igniting and its emerald glow moved quickly past her as her friend leapt in front of her and met the wookie in mid air. Nate blocked both the wookie’s lightsabers with a force Naali had never seen him use before. Nate landed softly, and the wookie landed on the edge of the hole in the floor, nearly loosing his balance. However, the wookie quickly recovered and lept back across the gap, standing his ground as Nate pursued him, their sabers clashing together over and over.
Naali watched nervously as her friend drove the wookie further back and away from her. The wookie’s blades cut far too close to her friend at times for her comfort. She cast a quick glace behind her to find out where their friend Verdin was. He had taken off down the opposite hallway and away from them. She knew, however, that wherever Verdin was, he should be able to hear the sounds of the lightsaber duel.
She was about to ignite her own lightsaber and help Nate out, when she finally caught sight of Verdin with lit lightsaber in hand, running towards them from the far end of the hall. She gave a slight sigh of relief, then gasped as she turned just in time to see Nate barely manage to block a blow aimed at his chest. She watched Nate shift into a defensive stance as the wookie began to swing his two sabers with increased fury. As she looked on, Nate dexterously dodged one blade and blocked the other, then the wookie suddenly shifted and while Nate was able to block the first blade, the second slid under his own blade and sliced cleanly through one side of the sleeve of his robe.
Naali could see the slash wound in Nate’s right arm through the hole in his sleeve. She cried out his name as she saw his lightsaber fall from his hand. The wookie growled and swung both blades towards him and just as Naali was about to jump across the gap to his aid, Verdin was already there, standing in front of Nate and meeting the wookie’s blades with two of his own. Naali leapt to Nate’s side as Verdin pushed the wookie back and away from them.
Naali heard Verdin yell “Come on fur-ball, is that the best you can do!” She shook her head as she inspected the wound on Nate’s arm - thankfully, it wasn’t very deep. She pressed a hand to it and concentrated upon healing him.
Nate sighed softly as he watched Verdin duel with the wookie. “There he goes, having all the fun again.”

Go figure, Verdin has to save their butts, again. Just like they have saved his butt on countless occasions. You know we always tried to get the council to just send all three of us on missions together just so we could all comeback alive. lol
