Chapter 5

   Thaila woke up in a small room, her hands tied be behind her back. The walls were bare and there was no furniture, only a small oak sapling growing out of a crack in the floor. The floor felt springy and bouncy, why was a mystery to Thaila. A light buzzed quietly above her head. Quietly and annoyingly.
   She sat up, her head pounding. The room felt like it was spinning around her .Thaila closed her eyes and tried to remember what happened. Where was she? Had some monster captured her?
   "Butler's sedative leaves a terrible headache, does it?" A voice said
   Thaila turned a around. A pale boy stood at the doorway, somehow getting in without her noticing. She groaned. "What do you want with me? Eat me? Roast me over a fire?"
   Artemis frowned, taken back by her reaction "No, nothing like that." He said
   "Then what do you want with me?" She yelled. Suddenly her eyes narrowed. "Are you a paedophile?"
   "No! I just want information!"
   "On what?" Thaila growled "The Camp? How to get in? I'm telling you nothing."
   Artemis frown deepened "The Camp?"
   "What type of monster doesn't know about Camp Half-Blood? Are you one of the Giant's spies? Plying dumb are we?"
   Artemis ignored Thaila, playing to ask Foaly on this Camp Half-Blood later. He walked further into the room, shutting the door quietly behind him. "What do you know of The People, Mrs Grace"
   Thaila stared at him, shocked. "I don't use my last name, Mr Fowl." She said as cold as she could, but it came out more as a surprised squeal.
   Artemis began pacing the room, like a true evil mastermind."I will ask you again, what do you know of the Fairy people?"
   "The Fairy people?" Thaila asked "You're mad."
   The pale boy turned "I know you know about them." He said coolly, ignoring Thaila's last remark. He was getting good at this ignoring thing. "Do you wish to experiment on them? To steal their technology? Is this Camp Half-Blood some kind of training camp? How many people know about the Fairies? How big is your origination? When-"
   "What are you talking about?" Thaila shouted, before Artemis could ask any more questions "The Fairy people? What are you on about? What type of monster are you? Why don't you just kill me and get it done with!"
   "I don't want to kill you." Artemis said quietly.
   "Are you sure? Because at the moment it sounds like you're going to question me to death!"
    Artemis took a deep breath. "What do you know about the Fairy People?"
   "I don't know anything! Now let me go! Or I electrocute you! Or kick you in the face, which do you prefer?"
   "The floor is partly made of rubber." Artemis said, quietly
   "What?"
   "The floor is partly made out of rubber, so even if you could electrocute me, you couldn't"
    "Why is the floor made out of rubber?"
   "Rubber stops magic from connecting to the Earth and it is also hard for dwarves to bite into."
   "What? Dwarves?
   Artemis sighed. This was going nowhere. "You answer my questions first and then I will answer yours. OK?" He asked
   Thaila hesitated. "Fine." She said, after all it was the only way to find out what the heck this guy was on about.
   "Alright, What do you know of the Fairy People?"
   "Nothing."
   Artemis studied her face. Her pupils remained the and she appearing to be looking him straight in the eye. Her voice was steady and she didn't appear to sweating. Thaila was telling the truth, but Artemis still had questions.
   "How did you appear on my landing?" He asked
   Thaila thought for a moment. What should she say? Should she tell him the truth? Or lie so he would believe her? Since no other explanations for appearing randomly on someone's staircase popped into her mine, she decided to tell him the truth or if he was a monster then he would all ready know. But this guy didn't seem like a monster. Monster's tended to attack and ask questions later and then get annoyed when they got no answer. This guy was asking the questions first. So he was either a really smart monster or a normal guy.
   "Iris. I ask to send a message to Artemis, my Artemis not you and she must of got muddled up." Thaila said
   Artemis stared at her. "Is Iris a codeword for something? A device? "
   "No. Iris is a Greek goddess of the rainbow."
   There was a long pause. A long awkward pause. "So, you are saying that Iris is real?" Artemis said disapprovingly.
   The door to the cell was suddenly kicked open. The other girl, Phoebe, stood in the doorway.
