As the rain falls, ISit and listen
Flickering lights from
Burned out streetlamps
I close my eyes
For a second that takes forever
And guess what I see?
Tomorrow's sun, obscured
Bloodred and laughing
Flickering in and out like
Burned out streetlamps
It is me
Covered in their blood.
Why is it me?
As the rain falls, I
Sit and watch
My breathing, the way it
Quickens with anticipation
Like a virgin
Dancing for the first time
But somehow, I already know
All the steps.
Twirling,
Twirling,
A misstep or two
But it doesn't matter because
There won't be any tomorrows
And today will never be
Yesterday. But, I cannot
Fumble, nor let my fingers slip
In their blood
When there is only one of them left.
Their faces
Like little clocks
They tick until their last moment,
Echoing,
Screaming,
Pleading until their weight
Hits the end of that chain.
No one will pull them up again
Because outside, it is raining coal
And no one would go out
Even to wake me
From this little nightmare.
As the rain falls, I
Close my eyes
For a second that takes forever
And I dream it all again.

Well the recurring dreams are always annoying as heck, usually I get them when I'm really frustrated about something. You'd think at some point after dreaming the same thing so many times something would just click inside your head and you'd become lucid and aware, but it doesn't seem to work that way.

That's how I used to react. I think I finally got over the annoyance though, and now it's just plain ol' depressing.

wow =O Do you know what's causing the nightmares? Maybe if you find the cause you can stop them...Just maybe...unless ur the type that actually likes nightmares...Just taking that into consideration.
