Lavender Town Report---------------------------------
Symptoms: Headache, Migraine, bleeding from eyes or ears, mood swings, irritability, addition to games, unprovoked violence, withdrawal, unresponsiveness, and even suicidal thoughts.
Me: Even though I have listened to Lavender Town music for a long period of time I have not gotten sick or had any symptoms tied to the Lavender Town tone. One of the reasons might be that I'm old enough to not be affected much or at all. The only 'symptom' I've gotten from listening to the Lavender Town theme was a shiver. I did hear the high pitched note however.
My Dad: Even before I tested if he was affected I knew he wouldn't be able to hear it. My dad has bad hearing and so he was not able to hear the high pitched note on the Lavender Town theme. He had gotten no symptoms.
My Neighbor: I was lucky enough to get my neighbor, Carly, to come over and listen to the Lavender Town tone. Right when the music entered the area with the high pitched notes she told me that she was feeling suddenly dizzy. I stopped the music and she was soon fine. Carly was younger than me and so she was easily affected.
My cousin: It was one day that I told my cousin, Racheal, about the Lavender Town legend and she asked me if she could see if she could be affected. I turned on the music and all was fine till the high pitched note came through the speakers. She asked me to stop the music. I did and asked what was wrong. She told me that she suddenly felt ill and I told her that she was just been affected.
My Mom: I once told my mom the day I learned about the legend about Lavender Town. She told me that it sounded horrible and didn't want a part of it or hear about it. I convinced her to listen to it at least once and I turned on the music. She listened past the high pitched note without a word. When I turned it off I asked if she heard the notes or felt anything and she replied with a no.
My Sister: My older sister, Crystal, is hardly ever around so when she came over to our house I saw my chance to have her listen to the Lavender Town music. I got her to come and I turned on the music. Just like my mom she heard past the high pitched note without a word. When I turned it off and asked if she heard or felt anything she said she did hear the note, but didn't feel sick.
Legend
---------
It was around 1996 that the games Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green were released. It was not long after the release that there were a number of suspicious deaths around the age of ten and under. It turned out that a town in the games called Lavender Town held high pitched notes in its music that caused the children to act strangely.
Some children went as far as killing themselves because of the Lavender Town tone. It was this legend that continues to surround the town and people wonder if the legend is true, sense it was really never proven.

No, there's more to the song than that. I don't believe there's a symptom that keeps you from hearing the rest of the song past that point. Maybe there's something wrong with your computer (or whatever you use to get online) or the internet itself that makes you not hear it.

Well, I hear the DOOT-DOOT-DEET-DOOT loud and clear and I see the little bar keep expanding like the song is going on, but I don't hear the rest of the song. Although I did hear the scratching high-pitched sound at 0:30. That's it.

I'm 16 and I feel even more than sick lsitening to it. Past the high pitched note, I was litteraly screaming, I had to put off my headphones right away. I tried to figure out what was wrong with this melody and found out... I watched a youtube video showing the strange pictures in the temporal frequency. I tought it was a fake. Until I analysed to song myself... It has 2 parts with pictures of the pokemon 731 and on the 2nd part, there is unowns spelling "LEAVE NOW" just before the high pitched zone (wich goes up to 20 000 hertz). MOST FREAKY DAYS OF MY LIFE!

Oh wow, that does sounds freaky! Can't say I had that happen to me before. But that just means that the Lavender town legend could be true, with all these people feeling strange whenever they hear the melody.

If you wanna see that proof, I made a video 2 days ago, because I was curious. Actually, I'm really scared of the file called "lavender.wav" on my computer. One thing is sure : NEVER, EVER listen to this during your sleep. Brain's state of unconsciousness will "absorb" easily what the song have to show. I have nightmares now, and I didn't even listen to it at night. I feel like I GOT to listen to it again, but I KNOW I musn't. I think this song may become addictive as well, wich can explain the fact many kids did'nt stop listening to it.
It is dangerous, very dangerous. Especially for kids. I got sensitive ears and I know how it feels. The creator of this song killed his son by making him listening to it over and over again at night. His kid became berserk and crazy, writing strange signs in his own skin. He suicided... I can imagine the pain he felt...
There's the proof : [link]

Oh man, I hope these nightmares of yours will go away. But yeah, you do need to be careful about the lavender town song. Hope you get better soon.

My cousin committed suicide because of this. I listen to the music 2 - 3 years ago and got sick for weeks.
And I have to say, my mouth bleed when I last listened to this.

I can't concentrate when hearing Lavender Town's original music. I tried my hardest because I was READING and looking that up (curious) and the link had the song on it. I couldn't concentrate on the text and still couldn't later

i think that the lavender music case is real (about the effects on children)
because, in psychology, childrens are more sensitive than an adult. Their percepcion are more high and they can hear and see things that in a certain age they just cannot see more.

I've said it many times, I don't doubt the original (or even future) releases of Red and Blue (not FireRed or LeafGreen) had something buried in the original music of Lavender Town (intentionally or unintentionally), nor do I doubt listeners (younger or older) felt uneasy, nauseous, lightheaded, ect. but I highly doubt the claims of suicide reports or seizures... further more, I had both of my dogs (one an adult large breed, one a pup small breed) and they didn't seem to react to the high pitched theme. Even still, it's an urban legend, and there will always be truth and fiction to urban legends.

I wouldn't doubt some people killed themselves since it's a song. I heard some real stupid cases where kids die. [Kid dies imitating Gaara from Naruto, someone died acting like a Pidgey ect)Maybe it can be real, no one will know ^^"

I remember the first time I listened to the original Lavender Town theme......
(flashback)
It freaked me out, but after a while i couldn't really remember what it sounded like. So I went to bed that night, not too worried.
But then I woke up in the middle of the night, and the Lavender town theme started playing in my head. Yeah, I was terrified.

This tune never bothers me. For some reason, I feel angry, but at the same time tired. Even as a kid, I was never affected. I was only excited about the Gastly and never took it seriously. If anything, I just ignored the music altogether. Lavender Town is special. It houses the spirit of Cubone's mother and is the place to get the PokeFlute. All I cared about was visiting the town and Cubone and going here to go to sleep.
Maybe I felt like the spirits of the Tower were protecting me and Cubone...
