Chapter three: Death and Dragons
Danny Phantom:
Amity Park, Illinois (Timeline 3), 4:03pm, Wednesday 23rd of June, 2010
“Come on Danny. A Ghost Zone. You can’t honestly say that you aren’t curious.”
That’s how it started. My parents built a portal into another dimension to finally prove once and for all that ghosts exist. Sam and Tucker wanted to see it, and my parents weren’t home that afternoon. Wasn’t as if it worked.
“You’ve got to check it out.” Sam went on standing in front of the portal with her camera while Tucker was playing with one of my parents inventions.
“You know. Your right.” I said with my confidence boosted. “Who knows what awesome cool stuff lies on the other side of this portal.”
Without another thought, I just pulled on the jumpsuit, ready to head inside. Sam stopped me to pull my dad face off the suit and replaced it with a flaming D. I just walked in. It was dark, I couldn’t see much inside the empty chamber. I wish I brought that flashlight now, then I wouldn’t have tripped over that lose cable. Then I wouldn’t have grabbed the on switch. Then I wouldn’t have been in the portal when it turned on.
The last thing I heard was Sam and Tucker calling out my name as green filled my vision, and I was overcome with pain.
When I woke up, found the colors of my jumpsuit were reversed, my hair was white and my eyes were a glowing green. And to top it all off, I was floating in the middle of a green void.
Blake Indigo:
Amity Park, Illinois (Timeline 3), 2:06pm Tuesday, 6th of September, 2011
“...and this ghost just came out of nowhere and threw a net around me.” Danny went on with his story as we walked. Well, he floated invisibly while I walked with my phone to my ear. “The electric shock knocked me out then I woke up in this sort of...”
“You might want to save it until we find Sam and Tuck.” I interrupted, phone still on ear. If you don’t want people to know your talking to yourself, either pretend to talk on your phone or walk a dog. I’m more of a raptor person myself anyway. “Wait there. I’ll be right back. Just need to grab a couple of wigs.”
“Wigs?”
“Well I’m not going to be caught talking to myself or public ghost enemy number one. And I need to do something about this.” I pointed to the badly dyed black hair regaining it’s natural brown colour after three months of growing in.
It was easy to throw together another identity for Danny, blonde wig, brown coloured contacts, padded jacket and a little makeup. I decided to give Blake Fenton a makeover, wouldn’t be hard to convince others about the change, Mr and Miss Fenton barley saw me during the three months I was there, Jazz wouldn’t notice, Sam and Tucker would however. Thankfully, I haven’t had my photo taken or my school ID issued after all the excitement this morning, and the only time I was ever noticed was when people drew attention to the new kid with no clue who he is. So, black wig, violet contacts and I’d lose the duster too.
The red headed sales assistant looked at the wigs and then me before ringing up the items. “Problem dying your hair?” She asked, looking at me with those striking blue eyes.
“Couldn’t do it to save my life.” I chuckled.
“I know.”
“Sorry.”
She smiled and handed over the merchandise. “Enjoy it while it lasts brother.” She walked away with that same smile on her face.
I started out of the store confused.
“Excuse me sir!” I heard someone call out. I turned to see an asian woman at the register I was just at. “Aren’t you going to pay for that?”
I looked down, the money still in my hand. “Sorry. Not myself today.” Or for the past three months for that matter. This wasn’t the first time something like this happened. Occasionally I see things out of the corner of my eye, a voice in the crowd, someone familiar but I couldn’t place it. But nothing like that before today. I just paid and left without another word.
The mall wasn’t as crowded as I expected but still busy with all the students dismissed from the high school early. Remembering the first time I was here when Jazz dragged me in to meet Danny’s friends, the food court was left at the Abyss outlet store, right at the fountain, up the escalator and across the plaza.
There they were. The technogeek and the goth in uncomfortable balance.
“Lead them into ally.” Danny whispered into my ear and I could feel the area warm slightly.
“Okay.” I said under my breath, fiddling with the hilt of the sword in my duster’s pocket. I walked towards them.
“...girls like that are a dime a dozen.” I heard Sam finish and watch Tucker fish around his pocket for change.
“What’s a dime a dozen?” I asked.
Sam sighed and answered. “Girls like Paulina. They’re so stupid, care more about their nails then those around them. What’s with the contacts?”
“Oh. I felt like something different.” I answered, forgetting I had put them in while I was in the prop store. “Anyway. I want you guys to meet someone.”
“Bit early for you to be bringing someone into our little band of misfits.” Sam said standing. “Come on Tuck.” She grabbed the kid’s shoulder and dragged him away from his change.
“Just where are we going anyway?” Tucker demanded as we walked out into the side street.
“And who are we meeting?” Sam chimed in.
“Well I sort of lied. You already know him.” I lead them further in and turned on them.
“Jazz?”
“Not hardly. But I don’t think he blames you for talking you into the Fenton Portal.”
“Wh... Wait. How could you...” Sam stammered. All I did was smile when Phantom appeared behind them.
“Hey guys.” He said, gloved hand up in a friendly enough gesture.
They turned and saw him. I half expected them to yell and run, but human nature bid them to stay.
“Hello again Danny Phantom.” Was all I could say. “Or is Fenton better?”
“Fenton?” Both of said in disbelief. They looked at each other, then it clicked. “Danny!”
The two teenagers piled on him, and started laughing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so happy. For good reason, their best friend, in some shape or from has come back. I couldn’t help but smile.
Alexandra Victoria:
Ok. This is a sticky wicket. A large blue dragon standing in the middle of my house, asking for tea. If this was home at the palace, I would oblige. But this is not my England, and this dragon does not look friendly. Also, in moments, I find myself getting picked up in her claw. Yes, the dragon is a lady.
“I want tee!”
“Well if you’d be so kind as to put me down, I would...” The dragon opened her wings. I know where this is going. “Oh, not again.”
The dragon launched out of the skylight.
“God save me!” This hasn’t happen since France! Even then, it was three of Napoleon's worst agents and not a dragon.
“I want tee!” The dragon roared.
“Well what do you want?! Green Tea! English Breakfast! Maybe with a side of bacon! Come on sister! Throw me a bone!”
Why did I say bone? At that moment, the local museum was up ahead. The dragon dived in though the window, and though the centrepiece, the skeleton of a T-rex. When we emerged from the other side, I spat out the humerus bone I that somehow found it way between my teeth.
“Great. Now all I need is my knight in shining armour, and we have a fractured fairy tale. Too bad I wanted them to save the dragon and slay the princess.” We went into another dive.
“Please don’t let this be a renaissance fair.”
I heard a crash.
Blake Indigo:
“It’s so weird.”
“Yeah.” I turned back to the trio, Sam and Tucker watching their friend eat. Danny had put on the disguise. He didn’t look that different. Make up made his skin look darker, the wig was cut in the same style as his hair but at least it wasn’t white. The contacts furthered the illusion and the glow wasn’t something I could help with, I just hoped it wouldn’t be noticeable in a well lit environment.
Then I noticed the street clothes, Black shirt, rust orange jeans, and green sneakers. Guess we now know what he was wearing his jumpsuit over.
Still, good enough to walk around in broad daylight.
“Sorry. What?” I asked completely missing the fact that a ghost asked for something to eat, and was now eating a burger and a side of fries.
“It’s just been a while since I ate.” He answered after swallowing. “Still tastes the same.”
“So what happened after...” Sam started but tried to look for a more tactful.
“I just woke up on a rock, floating in the zone.” He started. “I didn’t have time to get an idea of my bearings before this net came out of nowhere and this giant cyborg ghost appeared. To say that I was scared was an understatement. I died. I was lost. I was trapped. I was beginning to blackout. And I had the feeling this guy wasn’t going to tell me the time. I just saw a light shot across sky and ram into the the cyborg just as I blacked out. When I...”
A cold mist of air escaped out of his mouth. “Guys. I have a problem.”
We heard a crash. That’s when the screaming started as a large blue reptile landed in the middle of the food court.
“Want fleecy tee!” It roared.
I saw the ghost boy’s eyes glow from behind the contacts. I knew what he was about to do. I handed him the paper bag containing his jumpsuit. “Go. Now. I’ll distract it.”
Without another word, he took the bag, turned invisible, and I assume, he phased though the floor. Cleaver. Meanwhile, I just took two random burgers, mine and Danny’s, ran up to the dragon, and threw it at the reptile.
It looked at me after it felt the bun hit it’s scaly hide. The words ‘I taste good with ketchup’ decidedly ran though my head.
“Hey! What’d ya want?!” I yelled as I pulled out the sword hilt. Instinctively, I gripped it tighter and a length of sharp steel extended from the handle.
“Must have tee.” It roared.
“Does she want milk or sugar with it?” Asked Vicki. I couldn’t believe it, she was held in the creature’s claw.
The dragon came closer. I readied my blade as sword techniques and weak points of the dragon slowly poured into my head. Eyes. Side of the skull. Radial arteries. Avoid tail, wings, and mouth...
It raised a claw. I was about to dodge at the last minute...
“Hey! Ugly!” I never thought I’d be so glad to hear that voice.

Well, she's mad for something. I doubt it's just tea. Hot chocolate might be a different matter.

Wait, I just reread the last dragon's sentence. She wants... a t-shirt (or a sweater)? If finding nice clothes is not east for a werebeast girl, let alone for a huge dragon.

Ten out of ten and a lamington for the werewolf. But, I'm not entirely positive that she's a one hundred precent natural werebeast. That amulet around her neck looks very out of place.
