  Ok so I am a sucker for A.I. x Human stories. Whether they be androids, holograms, or just a sentient digital voice. I am a sucker for anything that isn't human falling in love with a human. That was the whole reason I created this AU. Not only that, but I really REALLY love the Halo franchise. I grew up with it, it is my baby and I will cherish it forever.

So as most of you know, another teaser was dropped at E3 for Halo Infinite and it sparked my hype again, so as a means of celebrating that, as well as Pride Month, I decided to return to this AU.

So for a bit of info on each character...

  Qrow, like his brothers and sisters, is a battle hardened Spartan II who was taken at the age of 6, and trained to become one of the strongest soldiers humanity has ever seen. He is one of the sharpest and strongest of the Spartan IIs, however he is also one of the more antisocial individuals of the bunch. He does not work well with others and struggles to work together with even other Spartans. On many occasions, Qrow has shown himself to be extremely critical of his fellow Spartans. While he shows no malice, others more often take his words the wrong way.

Most UNSC personnel assume Qrow lacks the ability to connect with others because he was bred to be a killing machine. He is a tool of ONI and the UNSC. War machines only kill. They do not feel. They aren't human. Spartan IIs do what they are told, and fight to protect humanity... no matter the cost.

Only one has ever had the chance to get to know what lies beneath the helmet and suit of armor...

  DRN 0425-1, designation "Darren", is the shipboard A.I. to the UNSC Baron of Nobility. He is a quick witted, intelligent, and flirtatious construct who is very loose and friendly towards his comrades. While most UNSC personnel (outside the crew of the BoN) deem his behaviour as "inappropriate" or "unprofessional", Captain Devine Alexander appreciates all the help Darren has provided him and his crew. In his eyes, Darren gives a boost of morale. His laid back demeanor, coupled with the Captain's more nonchalant form of leadership makes their crew feel more like a family than mere cogs in a great military machine. It has proven to be effective time and again, thus the Captain lets Darren be himself... within reason.

  After Qrow joins the crew, Darren is fascinated with the Spartan II. He has heard many stories, and read many reports about the super soldiers, but had never seen one in person. He saw this as his chance to interact with one and see what was so special about them. He "requested" permission--several times--to Cpt. Alexander to let him get acquainted with the Spartan. Every request, but one, had been denied. It wasn't until after issuing his report on Reach did Alexander have an epiphany; should their ship be found by Covenant forces, and the Cole Protocol be enacted... the frigate as well as its shipboard A.I. would have to be destroyed. To avoid destroying Darren, he decided it would be optimal for Qrow to be equipped with a Spartan Neural Interface. When proposed with the idea, Qrow was against it, but in hindsight he didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

This description took me forever. I won't say how long but it was pretty ridiculous pfft 7w7

Anyways, I hope you guys like this piece. It was sitting in my unfinished stuff forever so I finally shaded it and decided to post it for pride month and to celebrate Halo Infinite.
