Yeah, there's no particular context for this picture. It's just Darren hanging out with Qrow in their down time. I dunno, Qrow had his armor removed, probably did some fitness training, and now he is broodingly wandering about with his... unseemly A.I. Darren. These two have a very unique, and rather hilarious dynamic.

While Qrow may question a lot of Darren's actions (ie. his constant flirting with him), he still cares for him, and seeks to assure his safety. He views Darren as a comrade, and most importantly, a partner. This of noteworthy importance because Qrow never liked working with others before... On top of everything else, Qrow is a battle hardened war machine who has never had to deal with the quirkiness of a civilian. His professionalism and Darren's improper demeanor make for some hilarious and genuine interactions. As the two go through a hell of their own together, they grow closer as a team... and while Qrow may not realize it, his feelings might be a little deeper than he initially anticipated.

Now, as for Darren, he reciprocates those feelings of responsibility. Both of them acknowledge that they need to look after one another, and they genuinely enjoy the other's company. When Qrow became part of the UNSC Baron of Nobility's crew, he looked into his files and better educated himself about the spartan. This sparked his interest in the super soldier. From there, he requested time and again to be acquainted with the soldier. Eventually he got his wish. Over time, the two of them learned to respect and care for one another. Darren even developed...dare he admit feelings for the Spartan II... (From here it gets a little complicated)

The important thing about Darren is that he is the first person that Qrow has ever gotten close to. Close enough to actually share his secrets to. Darren is his confidant; he gives him solace. That in of itself is a great honor to the A.I. Through trials and tribulations their relationship has deepened into something strong, inseparable... and quite possibly heartfelt. Qrow has attached himself to something for the first time, and he is willing to fight tooth and nail to protect it, even through impossible odds. The same is said for Darren too. He has never felt any greater sense of dedication.

Welp that's about it for now. I hope you guys liked this silly little piece I did.

Lemme just say... I know it is real sappy for me to have something as cliche as a love story... and it is cringe to see it in something like Halo. Lemme just say this though.

One. It is my AU and I do what I want (lol)

Two. I just love playing with humanity tropes ok? I love seeing the trope of the machine learning to be human, and gaining some sort of emotional attachment.

They did something similar to this in Halo 4, but fu**ed it up in 5. So I decided to take it and do it myself to have a little bit of fun. Besides (for those of you who may find this story to be cringe), it's not like they are canon ok? It's a fanfiction, and I am writing it with my character (and my bff's character), there is no canonxoc here. It's all made up by me, so there shouldn't be an issue. It's all for fun.
