It looks beautiful...but just out of curiosity - how solid is it? It looks incredibly thin and fragile. @_@

it is 1/4 thick but has been tempered so it is very flexible and strong

Having a hard time agreeing with that. This is stainless steel, a high-chromium iron based alloy that is shiny and largely rust-proof, but very hard and prone to chip. It's widely regarded as great for kitchen knives, surgical tools and the like, but not swords.
