Ok guys new drawing I did a portrait of a fellow artist we have here on Deviantart.com !
Just HB pencil on smooth illustration board..

hehee yep ! I somehow.. unknowingly managed to develope a shading technique that makes my pencils look like watercolor.. hmmn.. I'm really starting to wonder if I should do some colors and try watercolor !

You have such a beautiful drawing style that I envy.
You somehow manage to make your pencils, and charcoal as well, look like paint. It's almost as if they are strangely textured watercolors or something. I am grateful to have found you.

Gorgeous - the faintly otherworldly air works, even having read the comments about work left for the inker. This would look good if it was coloured straight from pencils, without inking

good work again, mate. i love how you've smoothed out the tones (with a q-tip you said right?) i thought it was ink wash at first. keep up it up! you suave part-spanish lady killer you

The drawing is pretty good.
Just a few crits - mostly due to you working from a photo.
1. Deepen some of the shadows for more contrast, especially on the base of her throat and (her) left elbow.
2. The wisp of hair that crosses her face kind of disappears and reappears.
3. Whatever that cord is that runs across her chest, you could probably loe it.
You don't have to slavishly follow what is in the photo. Just use it as a reference.
Your treatment of the hair is nice.
The impressionistic treatment of the background is good.
It is a good likeness.

Heh thanks mate.. yep I tend to have a habit of not always darkening when I should cause it's almost automatic for me now.. I don't really lay down alot of black or dark shades these days cause I'm drawing for comic-books and I have this subliminal checklist that says the inker will darken those spots.. heh

Can't really afford to take and criticism the wrong way.. even bad feedback is a tool used for learning
Besides...it's the reason why I share my drawings to this community.. a hundred eyes can see what sometimes one set of eyes missed.. and vice versa..

Oh wow thanks ! I use a Q-Tip to smooth out the shades and create effects.. and it's on smooth Illustration board I guess thats how my drawings tend to look these days !

Well think of it this way. My mother and father both speak about 3 diffrent languages each ! but I only speak one.. and I'm barely passable as English to them ! hehe
