If they were in a Star Wars movie they would be in deep pudoo

Never thought of that, but it could very well be a new take on an old mission.

I've changed my mind. I don't want a heavy cruiser. I want one of these.

With the slimmer profile and I think those are three torpedo tubes it looks like it can handle a situation like this.
I've been writing a story about Peter Kirk, Maybe if I do a sequel a ship like this should be his first command. Although a friend of mine wants him to assume command of the Enterprise when his uncle retires.

Actually the pod has 4 there is one facing aft. I think this would make a nice fighting ship for your story.

Or one like it. It seams this one is used in another story and I don't want to infringe on another writer. I might use this class though.

Very cool! If I recall correctly, isn't the Loknar class a FASA Star Trek design? (God, I miss my Starship Recognition Manuals from that game!)

Yes, the Loknar class is in the Federation recognition guide. I don't know if that's the earliest appearance or not.

Honestly I couldn't tell you I just really love the look of it! It really steps away from the standard Star Trek design.

Indeed it does, as did the U.S.S. Defiant on DS9.

Yep, it's one of my favorite ships. I'm eagerly awaiting getting it, and the Akira class ship in the Eaglemoss Die Cast Metal model collection. (Already have my refit Enterprise and Enterprise D, and waiting on Excelsior and the K't'inga battlecruiser, as well as a couple of other ships I can't remember. ) They'll definitely make good references and texture models for when I get down to making CG models of them.

They go for about 20 bucks a pop. Best thing to do is either order them through your local comic shop, or get a subscription (each model comes with a mini-magazine describing the featured ship). (The models are shipped from England, I believe) A subscription gets you a few extra chotchky's like a light-up Borg Cube, a miniaturized dedication plaque, the "All Good Things" Enterprise D...etc.
Right now, I have the refit Enterprise and the Enterprise D. After I finish my Enterprise vs. K't'inga animation, I am going to see if I can use the refit Enterprise model to retexture my CG Enterprise.

If STO is any indication, those BoPs will go down like wet tissue paper, it's the D7 they need to worry about, hehe...
Interesting ship design!

Thanks for the comment Crimson, the BOP's are always good canon fodder and I agree the D7 would be a serious match for this ship. I really like it and I am hoping to use it again.

Excellent As close as they are I can just see a gamble about to be played. "All power to front shields! Full stop, quick reverse. As they overshoot us, lay a photon into each of those Birds and all phasers to bear on the Battlecruiser's rear shield!!"
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ShadowhawkOne In reply to NICELabs [2013-06-12 11:34:21 +0000 UTC]
That is only the first part, after he knocks out their shields, he plans to beam several crates of tribbles onto each ship before going to warp and escaping. I can't imagine the Klingon's will be too happy stranded on ships with hungry breeding tribbles.

NICELabs In reply to ShadowhawkOne [2013-06-12 14:13:13 +0000 UTC]
Yah escaping probably is the best bet. The warbirds are insignificant, but the Battlecruiser is the real threat. Even a few photons down the wrecked rear shield would be basically scratching the paint. As for the tribbles... just better hope the Klingon's aren't carrying a stable of Glommers to combat such an underhanded Federation trick

ShadowhawkOne In reply to NICELabs [2013-06-12 17:57:47 +0000 UTC]
Sometimes the best escape plans are the most sneaky and underhanded ones you have. At least he kept the Orion slave girls for himself otherwise the crew would have been really distracted!

NICELabs In reply to ShadowhawkOne [2013-06-12 18:21:37 +0000 UTC]
Indeed... playing the game Star Fleet Battles I've got some maneuvers that are downright mean
Of course having a restricted deck manned by nothing but Orion slave girls with access given to those with the highest ratings makes for a well motivated and highly efficient crew
