Description
The Iron Claw is the lead ship utilized by the Shadow Guild for planetary shipping interdiction and patrol. At just over 900 meters long and with a crew complement of 35, it is considered to be one of the most high tech ships in use. The ship is equipped with a space platform based ION Pulse cannon that is capable of firing 15 pulses before a mandatory recharge cycle. The Iron Claw class is equipped with a secondary battery consisting of fixed towers along the dorsal fin with a traversing turret at the bow and multiple rotating turrets on the lower hull. The Iron claw is outfitted with 6 Condor Class heavy cargo/troop transports located in the transversely mounted center shuttle bay. This ship is capable of high speed sub light speeds and is known as being a speed freaks nightmare. The high speed handling characteristics of this Frigate require a steady hand and steady nerves. It was confirmed that during the initial shakedown cruise the Iron Claw was extensively damaged during a high speed atmospheric skip maneuver which resulted in the death of 25 crew members and an additional 2 years of space dock repairs before it was certified to join the fleet. Extreme caution should be used when going up against one of these vessels.
