Here's the original pic for my ID. First, let me tell you that this was a complete accident... actually, all of my good works are complete accidents. It started off as a black hole, then I drew some wings, and it eventually became a Phoenix with a black hole in the middle of its chest. I drew some stars that looked like snow so then I thought, "okay, a snow Phoenix?" Then I turned the black hole into an ice crystal. I then played the hue/saturation thing and messed around with my layers and kabam! A phoenix with a red star in it hench the name Red Giant. This actually didn't take me very long since I merely used photoshop brushes for the majority of it. Take the wings for example, I used some abstract brush, and flipped it, and smudged it. The only things I drew by hand were the head and tail.
