5-3-2020 update-slow progress but its starting to come together a bit more

Inspired by last months #Fauna focus animal of the month for April

I'm not really happy with this one yet, I want to fix the spotted markings on the stomach because I feel like they should be more checkerboard looking...unfortunately this is a rare animal and I haven't been able to actually find a good reference that shows the stomach of it...but from the images I have looked at it appears to be more checker-boarded looking on the edges so I feel that pattern is probably consistant all across the tummy and right now I feel I've messed it up a it just looks too blotchy and irregular to me. Also not finished coloring in the baby crocs, water lettuce leaves, or scale detailing on the big croc....lots left to do...but I haven't posted any art in a while so I thought I would put this up even though its got a lot of work still before i call it finished.

I kind of had in mind those scientific type illustrations you sometimes see that show an animals life cycle- like a tadpole transforming into a frog type thing. The baby crocs and eggs are not meant to be in proportion to the adult (I know they are way too big for that) I was even thinking of putting a sort of square or two in the background-ish layer behind them to sort of seperate them a bit...also considering adding another baby that is fully out of the egg in a swimming pose at the bottom.
