Born into a circus family in 1916, Walter grew up performing acrobatics and stunts until the deaths of his parents in mid 1928. Walter and his brother, Jacques were left to fend for themselves as only young boys in a bad part of London. They found ways to make money through entertaining people on the streets and sometimes theft.

In 1933, Walter and his brother, Jacques, were called upon to serve at the distant cries of what would eventually be World War II. It would be through his deployment that he'd meet and quickly marry his future wife, Isadora McAllister.

After being badly injured in combat training, he returned home to his wife in 1937. However, he'd come home to find a baby girl in a cradle, his child, Mariposa, who he at first didn't believe was his daughter, as he'd found Isadora in bed with another man. Upon letting her lover leave (he didn't know Isadora was married) he shot her in the head. Walter went over to the cradle to look down at the baby angrily

Walter quickly soared to the top of the most infamous mobster family in New York, and became the boss in 1939, keeping this secret from his daughter. While in America he corresponded with his brother through letters, updating him of everything going on in life.

He would later lose his life on Halloween night following witnessing the death of his daughter to a rival Mafia family in 1942. He was able to kill all of the mobsters, including his daughter's murderer, despite having received a gunshot wound to the head, and only finally collapsed until all of the perpetrators who were involved in hurting his daughter were slaughtered.

He will blame himself for the fate of his only daughter, and stops at nothing to protect her.

Walter would be reborn that same night in Hell, as one of the most powerful chaos demons in existence, though while having no knowledge of his powers (despite being able to elementally destroy something without wearing gloves) he still lives as a being to make others around him cower in fear.

Entering his Chaos form (butterfly form) is something he has no control over and only happens when he is asleep or in enraged

Walter is also very good with a saxophone, and will often play at clubs when he is really bored.

His personality is generally bright and optimistic, but he isn't at all afraid to turn vicious when it's necessary
