Late April Fools Day?Started this late last night and finished at 2AM, so I just barely missed it, but whatever. I probably still would have done this piece eventually.
The logo sucks, sorry. I rushed.

Oh okay. Still, I don't see how this is a "minor mess-up", as I don't see anything wrong with the logo. What don't you like about it, out of curiosity?

The ocean texture is supposed to be more visible, instead of a mono-tone blue like it is now.
The stroke thicknesses on the word "paper" needs to be brought down between 0.3pt and 1pt in thickness.
The palm tree is a lazily edited auto-trace of some generic clipart.
The Shine Sprite was not properly resized, so the stroke thicknesses are disproportionate.
The rainbow paint in the back is lazily drawn and not as elegant as a really brushstroke should be.
I could go on, but that should give you an idea as to how designers break apart and assess what to
improve about a piece and how to capitalize on it.

With how much the fans are getting reminded of Sunshine via Splatoon and Color Splash, I'd be surprised of FLUDD doesn't return in a Mario game for the next system.

I know that it's just one of these April fools' day jokes, but I have always liked the idea of a crossover between Super Mario Sunshine and the Paper Mario series. In fact, I have the project to write one myself (or at least, to try to write one). I called it Paper Mario Sunshine : From Tartaruga With Love ("Bons baisers de Tartaruga" in French). The story is supposed to take place on the turtle island that you can see in the introduction cutscene of Super Mario Sunshine. ProtoTypedKnife one told me that he plans to write one too. Great minds think alike, I suppose.
But whatever, your artwork looks really beautiful. And it was a nice way to celebrate the first of April.
