The amber was much less agile, turning now and splitting off to try to cut off the pearl; a strategy that they had decided would better suit the silky kuku. Levi raced down the sidewalk, gasping and yelping as he collided with Chase. The pearl male gasped out as the other kuku cut him off, not having much time to react, only charging into the other, the two tumbling in the water. He snarled, biting the amber in the hock, ensuring one would not pursue him if his leg hurt. Levi yelped again, trying to kick out at the rogue Kuku, only missing as Chase was already racing off. The amber whimpered, clambouring back to his feet and trying to pursue, his leg hurting and he didn’t know how long he could keep running.
Chase sprinted through the rain, grunting as he couldn’t outrun the cascading water and it stung his eyes to the point he was forced to slow and just try to out maneuver. It took a few moments for Braylen to realize where Levi had gone, using their well practiced technique that had been used over and over again. He smirked as the silken rook managed to apprehend their target, though worry flooded his features as he saw the two collide and tumble, and Levi’s yelp caused his heart to drop. Within seconds, Chase was on the move again, and Braylen snarled, racing after the Pearl as fast as the rain allow, the need to protect his team mate, feeling an anger burn at the treatment Chase had given Levi.
The hazel rook slid after Chase, racing forward and leaping, giving it all the muscle strength he had, feeling himself slam into the other rook, determined to take him down. He didn’t like to use violence, he wasn’t that type of Kukuri, but they couldn’t complete the mission with Chase still running about. Braylen knew that the army wanted to help Chase… at least, he thought.
