Description
I hate to upload JPGs, but this one was just too big.At long last this one is done. And I no longer think it's too over the top as I did at first ^^.
Still, giving her such a large bust must have still been very distracting, as nobody noticed that the original pencil version [link] had 2 left feet... well, then again, neither did I, until I started coloring

Well, the character design is weird thanks to Masami Obari. I was also put off a bit when I saw captures (to date, I still dislike most art by Obari); but fortunately, it looks a lot more tolerable, even likeable (to me) once animated.

well can you show off her bod somewhere else? I HATE being teased by proportions of that size covered up!

Sorry, no. That goes beyond my intentions.
I can't blame you for feeling teased, but even real life can be that way, we have to deal with it.

Great job on the cel-shading. I need to work on it myself. You have such perfect lines. I wonder how ya do it. I see you put some work into the hair as well. I'm lazy about that.

Thanks. However, the lines are done with vectors so there isn't a lot of merit about them looking good.

Meh. If you can figure out how to get them to work, then kudos to you. I can't use the pen tool in photoshop to save my life. Sad, because I think it would save me some grief when trying to get long clean lines.

Well, I'm also bad with most tools in Photoshop. I prefer Paint Shop Pro, since I still find Photoshop hard to get used to.

Though, I think that SNK(P) has always done its own art, if I recall correctly.

Sorry it took me a while to comment on this one, been distracted.
Glad to see you colouring again, a well worthwhile endeavour in my opinion. It gives a lot of life to the picture and a sense of completion. At this point you're probably getting into your own "style", so there are a few things I'm not sure whether to mention- it might be the direction you're trying to go in, rather than an error.
If you're not going for a polarised look, you want to use more colours and blend them together, obviously.
Generally it's very two-tone with everything divided into shaded and not shaded. Now, I've seen this used as an actual stylistic method, so you're good sticking with this. You might want to add more tones, though... Looking at her hair (which is really well done, as per usual), I see you've used a brighter tone for highlights. I think it's good to apply this to the rest of the body as well- sparingly- but it works well in places. Kind of like how you've done Jin's tights in this picture (provided the link works. You probably know which one I mean anyway! ^_^; )
Saburo has a technique using blotches of light to give things a more three dimensional feel... To use Jin as an example again, he does it on her chest in this picture: [link] .
Also, call me crazy, but some of the things look as if you've imagined the light source individually, rather than interacting as a hole... for instance, the ball hanging around her legs, I'd have thought (if the lightsource is somewhere above and in front of her) that it would have more of a shadow cast on it from her body.
Overall it still looks very good, and I do hope you try to colour more often. Still, if you'd rather advance in other directions, I'm eagre to see what you come up with there as well. In other words, I look forward to everything! ^_^;

Thank you so much!
While I do am developing a stlyle of my own, I'd like to be able to paint in more than one way, so any helpful suggestions are welcome.
I guess more color tones could be useful to this image. I might try to add them later. However, I originally planned something different: smooth (blended) tone boundaries where the surfaces are meant to be curved. I have seen that in some drawings and wanted to try it with vectors, but once again, the way I started the coloring became an obstacle. I got annoyed of failing at that, so I decided to go for simple cel-shading.
Regarding my version of Jin, I did it that way mainly because the fabric covering Chun-Li's legs looks glossy in some illustrations.
But I still know what you mean (especially after seeing the Jin image). However, Saburo's style is very close to soft-shading (I think that's how it's called), and I'd kinda prefer to do true soft-shading than something in the middle. I know that the light blotches can be done in cel-shading as well (I've seen anime and drawings that use them) but I don't like too much how that looks on the skin; it seems a bit hard to pull out correctly in some cases.
Oh, and I think that you are right about your observations regarding the inconsistencies of the light source. I must admit that I got a little lost with that.
Thanks again, your comments are always helpful.

Very, VERY well done. If I could change one thing, though...it would likely be the tone of lipstick. It seems a bit...vivid. I always thought of Mai as a flamboyant dresser (Believe me on this, I've played KoF '07. RIDICULOUS outfits), but the brightness of the lips slightly contrasts with the lightly duller tone of the outfit.
Otherwise, it's a superb coloration of the original. Apart from my nitpick, which may or may not be unfounded, I can see no other snags. The two left feet was cleaned up nicely, and the shading is well done.

Oh, and if you are talking about the KOFMI2 game, that's Falcoon for you; I have heard he is a fashion designer wannabe .

...please tell me you're joking about the marketed bit.
Anyways...I just got fed up with the outfits. I swear the they were TRYING to dress up some of the more respected characters as jokers. I mean...Iori as an owl? Mai as a tiger? Fio Germi as Terry Bogard?
