Description
I'm trying to make a layered drawing, so I can do small variations without redoing everything again. So far it's been more complex than I thought it would be.Edit:
Changed the title.
Mai Shiranui and Fatal Fury are property of SNKPlaymore. Drawing by me.

Not sure. Maybe (if I find an interesting idea), but without anyone visibly getting hurt.

And what is an interesting idea? You need suggestions?

There are cute short haired girls but longer hair adds sensuality.

i like the shading around the undercurve of the breasts, it really gives a sense of weight and depth. now if only you had used heavier shading across the curve of the visible hip, it wouldn't look like said hip goes on forever behind her arm.
its a great optical illusion, but somehow, i dont think thats what you had in mind. ^_^;

Yup, I agree; unfortunately, the way I made this drawing (out of layers drawn separatedly made me loose track of where shadows should be, and that's why I forgot to add some of them.

Well, you must use a drawing software that supports layers, like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc. (or perhaps not, but I'm not sure since I have not tried with anything else). You can draw different things in different layers, so that the ones above cover the ones below.
For a drawing like this, that would be like dressing a paper doll; the layers that you don't use can simply be turned off or made invisible. However, in this drawing I made the figures by hand and then scanned them, which created extra problems, like being careful that all drawings are aligned (so they can fit together) and erasing the white areas or "negative space" of each drawing.

Very Impressive. (Sorry I can't critique.. not my strong point!)
Those boobs are excellent, especially moreso since when they're drawn bigger, it's hard to make them look... real? Make sense? But you, my friend, have acheived that look. Excellent!

Thanks.
I'm certainly not aiming for realism here. My biggest concern would be that the image could actually look beautiful and not just "sexy". I want to think that I can achieve that at least within people that likes/tolerates this kind of physical "distortion".

There's nothing to be jelous of. Just practice it; I don't feel specially skilled at it, but practicing it has made me feel more secure about this aspect of drawing and I thend to like more the outcomes as a result.

That's gotta cause some back discomfort (and boy problems*)

Mai sure is happy to be a fantasy character and a strong fighter as well . The former is the best for her back and the latter is good at handling lusty boys

If you compare the height and width of this image with the others in my gallery...

Well layers can be very hard to deal with if your doing it for the first time. On the other hand it's great once you know what your doing and everything can flow so well when you do.
I'm sure you'll get the hang of it and master it.

In this case all is first drawn on a paper and then scanned, so it's been indeed difficult to make the drawings match properly. Mixing the layers has been also hard.
Thanks a lot for your encouragement.

Sometime in the not-so-far future, I hope; though I'm not giving it much priority.

What do ya mean "Small 1?"
Aside from the obvious, I like how her arm is resting on her hip, and I like the feet for some reason.

I think you are misinterpreteing (I think I must change the title).
"Small" refers only to the size of the image (I usually upload larger pics), and "1" means that I might upload more drawings of the same thematic.
I always try to make the feet look good, so I'm glad you liked them .

Well, I was making reference to the size of the picture ; if one compares it to my other drawings at least... Though I admit that it's still rather big, perhaps the colored version should be smaller... who knows.

The shading and texture here is excellent, and I adore the pose. Her limbs look a somewhat shortened however, and the position of her arms seems a bit awkward, though both of these may just be an effect of the perspective. Also, the way her left arm covers the outer line of her hip, backside and thigh distorts her profile a bit and creates the disconcerting optical illusion that only the front-half of her torso exists. I think the position of her right hand exacerbates this a bit. It seems so close to her left breast that it makes it seem as though she has no back. I think the lack of colors has a lot to do with this, mind you. If the image were colored, the skin-tones and soforth would make the distinction between her body and the background much clearer.
Aside from the pose issues though, this is quite gorgeous. Your talent with shading and texture is truly amazing.
