In my AU, these flowers are the Final Fantasy equivalent to Pyreflies (they inspired these after all)

BUT!! In my AU, they typically take the form of Butterflies that can switch between Butterfly to Flower at will. You put your hand under it and snap your fingers, then the smoke (like incense smoke) forms the dead person above the flower, standing on the petals. And you can talk to them.
