Well the first officially complete piece of 2009 since my epic pic sorta fell through, and what else than to have SP at the helm, yes after a long time mah ol temp ID is gone because now I have a sexy new one depicting SP's newly redesigned arm.So yah I hope ya enjoy my new ID ^^

Anyway thanks for the comment, I wanted to give a dark feeling, sorta fantasy look coupled with images which depict more medevil lotr style art. He has been though a lot hasn't he, from a mankey shadow recolour to a shrew like this has been a long journey but one that has beared epic fruit ;D

Indeed, it has been a long time. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, and upload some more art.

A very striking and mysterious piece of character art that has been brought to life through your finger tips of artistic know-how. The way you present the character is good for it does not only indicate a style that can been seen quite clearly in the realm of graphic novel land (if it actually existed). What you've done is take the sonic style and give it a Blade Runner make over through the use of the techno punk clothing and hair do along with the mechanical arm. It works well due to it's simplicity, but the sharp and rather astounding colour applied gives it a complex and energetic feel.
Colour is were your skills are becoming the most impressive. While your style is illustrative and eye catching to many (do I smell the approach of fangirls?) the colour takes home the medal. What I really like is the use of sharp light blue outlines around the character. Those little additions spice the artwork up greatly and allow it to hit you with full impact, a little something that you have always do well with your art.

Heh you got it down well, I was trying to recreate a sorta graphic novel style to this piece, looking at the lineart of artists such as J.Axer and the inking brilliance of this guy [link]
It's been a while since I've coloured my own piece in this style, glad it was so well received, especially since I felt so rusty doing the colouring here.

Going over the top is a very nice thing indeed. I think exageration makes character designs cooler.
